2013 International Digital Emmy Awards at MIPTV

The 8th edition of the International Digital Emmy Awards at MIPTV took place on Monday, April 8, 2013 during the Opening Party at Martinez Hotel in Cannes as part of the festivities. The ceremony was attended by over 300 international executives from the television, broadband, and mobile industries, organized in partnership with Reed MIDEM and sponsored by the Bell Fund of Canada.

 

digital emmy awards 2013The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences presented the winners of the International Digital Emmy Awards with their world-famous trophies during the Award Ceremony that took place at the MIPTV 2013 Opening Party. Reed MIDEM’s CEO Paul Zilk and Bruce L. Paisner, President & CEO of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences presented the ceremony and stars introduced the nominees and presented the winners with the trophies.

Emmy Awards for digital programs were presented to winners in three categories:

Non-Fiction – Entertainment Experience (The Netherlands)
Actress of The Odissey Caterina Murino  presented the award to Entertainment Experience (FCCE/Ziggo) follows the development and production process of a user-generated movie by Hollywood director Paul Verhoeven. Children & Young People – dirtgirlworld…dig it all (Australia)
Bassist-singer of rock group Kiss Gene Simmons presented the award to dirtgirlworld… dig it all (mememe productions/dirtgirlworld productions/Screen Australia ) a transmedia project featuring apps that kids can use in nature.

Fiction – Guidestones (Canada)
French actress and actor of La Source, Clothilde Courau and Christophe Lambert presented the award to Guidestones (3 o’ clock.tv /iThentic), a series about two journalism students who uncover a global conspiracy while investigating an unsolved murder.

This year’s Pioneer Prize was presented to Anthony E. Zuiker, the visionary CSI-creator, for his innovative contributions to the field of digital entertainment with his online thriller, Cybergeddon. “With cutting-edge concepts and technology that pushes every frontier, these Emmy® winners brilliantly demonstrate the wonderful versatility of multiplatform storytelling.” said Bruce L. Paisner, President & CEO of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, who presented the Pioneer Prize to Zuiker.
