cinema israelien cannes 2015The first edition of the Cinema Israelien A Cannes Festival, presented by the cinephile association Ciné Croisette will take place from April 13 to 20, 2015.

Cannes is worldwide renown as a city of festivals. After the Québequois, Chinese and Japanese cinema festivals, Cannes take a fresh look at the Israeli cinema which, in recent years, is enriched with a contemporary spirit, especially through co-productions with France and Germany. The Cinema Israelien A Cannes selection of a dozen films reflects the maturity of its industry.
The Israeli Film Festival, a missing piece in the cinema world in the Capital of Cinema, now has a place for the delight of many moviegoers from Cannes and its region.

An internationally renowned cinema

In recent years, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has inspired a lot the Israeli cinema. Its dramatic drives, including love stories (The Bubble by Eytan Fox), the war (Waltz with Bashir by Ari Folman) – a film screened in competition at the Festival de Cannes – or Eran Ciklisest‘s Lemon Tree, are an inexhaustible source for its screenwriters. The opposition of its communities, the memories of fighting have produced beautiful cinema success screened across the world.

A rich screenings program

Ciné Croisette and the Cinema Israelien A Cannes will present every day one or two Israeli movie, subtitled in French. This Festival will offer Cannes cinema fans to watch previews and an overview of current productions of films that achieved great success in Israel.
As part of the festival, guests renown in the world of Israeli cinema will talk about their art like the director Shirel Amitai, the director Thierry Benesti, the screen writer Valérie Zanetti, and the journalists Line Toubiana and Xavier Nataf.
On April 13, the film Rendez Vous in Atlit by Shirel Amitai will be screend on the official opening of the Cinema Israelien A Cannes in the presence of film critics Line Toubiana and Réjeanne Dalix. The Syrian Bride by Eran Riklis, will close up the Festival in the presence of journalist David Chemla.

Inauguration of the Nice-Tel Aviv flight

During the Cinema Israelien A Cannes Festival, will take place the inauguration of the new line Tel Aviv-Nice by the Sun d’Or airline, a subsidiary of El Al.
