The 2014 edition of Guide Hubert to good tables and fine wines in the South of France was brilliantly launched at Cap Estel’s La Table Patrick Raingeard.

The Guide Hubert is the guide to happiness in the pleasures of the table in one of the best regions to live in. To launch the 36th edition of the bible of outstanding gourmet addresses, Jean-Pierre Hubert, creator of the Guide Hubert and Bernard Van de Kerckove, correspondent for the Provence Alpes Cote d’Azur region, have chosen La Table Patrick Raingeard. Patrick Raingeard is one of the most talented chef in the French Riviera, exercising his art with talent in one of the most gorgeous and prestigious establishment, the Cap Estel in Eze.

Epicurean pleasures

Since 1979, Jean-Pierre Hubert, his wife and son Jean-Baptiste and his team of experts and oenologists have been guiding epicureans in their gustatory pleasures by selecting some 2,000 excellent tables and 1,200 outstanding wines in the half South of France.
French Gastronomy entered the Unesco World heritage and Guide Hubert offer connoisseurs a guide to the restaurants, wines and good local products of the South of France. The guide is dedicated to help gastronomes finding the best place where well-being and pleasures of the table will take travelers and amateurs to euphoria.

Good value for money

With the collaboration of Chief Editor Christophe Andrieu, oenologist Pierre Casamayor and Hélène Durand, the guide highlights the best restaurants in seven southern regions and 42 departments, stating the value for money. The second part of the Guide Hubert is a wine guide highlighting the best wines selected by experienced oenologists. Once picked up by the Guide Hubert, winemakers use this label to boast the quality of their production.
Elegant with its glossy paper, enhanced with beautiful color photos and plans, the Guide Hubert lists 2,000 restaurants and 1,200 wines, tested, classified, annotated and scored by a team of expert “fin gourmets”. The correspondents are working in the field, seeking out new addresses, conducting annual inspections and providing updated rankings by department.

France’s culinary heritage

The clear and easy-to-read guide, peppered with symbols “Malin”, “Plates” and “Pots”, list the traditional and terroir institutions. The guide Hubert argues for the refusal to the proliferation of restaurants without cuisine, with the operation “restaurateurs, ambassador of regions of France’s culinary heritage” label.

La Table de Patrick Raingeard

One year only after taking over the Cap Estel restaurant, named “La Table de Patrick Raingeard”, chef Patrick Raingeard hit the headlines in February 2013 by winning the only new Michelin star granted by the 2013 edition of the prestigious red guide.
A few months later, in September, he reiterated by winning the prestigious Gault & Millau d’Or, awarded by Gault & Millau, one of the references in the French gastronomic world.
Patrick Raingeard trained with Alain Passard, Ledoyen, Jacques Maximin, at Elysee Lenotre, La Mère Poulard in Mont St Michel, Ladurée in Paris with Pierre Hermé and Patrice Hardy. Using the best products of France and local terroir, he practices an inventive, thorough, meticulous and inspired cuisine. Pastry chef of La Table de Patrick Raingeard is Vincent Delhomme.
The chef is used to saying: “With my brigade, I always aim further towards perfection, following the same guideline: please my guests. Nothing can ever be taken for granted; gastronomy requires a constant questioning.”
