The first InstaCannes operation at iconic Marché Forville generated hundreds of photos and selfies printed in real time on August 17 2014, from 11 to 13 h.
The Mayor of Cannes David Lisnard, passionate about social media and promotion of the Cinema capital, initiated the first InstaCannes operation at Marché Forville. The animation featured a terminal to print, in real time, photos and selfies with the #mairiedecannes hashtag. In two hours, more than 200 visitors and Cannois have posted their best selfies.
By choosing the Marché Forville as first animation place, InstaCannes settled on a landmark of Cannes, which is a typical traditional Provencal market. One way to enhance the historic heritage and local producers, farmers and fishermen, while allowing the public to revisit the “selfie” fashion in an original and entertaining way and walk away with a souvenir photo provided by the City of Cannes.
Cannes, connected city
Since May 2014, David Lisnard has developed and expanded the city presence on social media to inform the public in real time, to facilitate dialogue with its web users and to share with all lovers of the City. Tourists and Cannois, alone or with family, using Instagram, enjoyed a good moment of conviviality while doing erands at the market and kept a beautiful image of Cannes by instantly printing their photos.
The photo can be Tweeted or be posted on social media, conveying the image of Cannes worldwide to have the city better known to future visitors or those looking for their tourist destination.
Close relationship with locals and tourists
A desire of the Mayor of Cannes, David Lisnard, wishing Cannes to be a true “Connected City” by facilitating the citizens procedures and extending the availability of public services and providing opportunities for Cannes people, thanks to social networks, to have a genuine 7/7 2.0 office.
With these new tools, Cannes Town Hall becomes more interactive and promotes a unique and direct relationship with its residents and tourists.
The mayor of Cannes David Lisnard is committed to developing local and global values of Cannes, the international village.
The first InstaCannes was presented at Marché Forville by Deputy to Mayor Marie Pourreyron in charge (among other) of the Communication of the city of Cannes.
Other InstaCannes operations will take place in the coming days in other parts of the city.
