The City of Grasse launches the 18th edition of BIO Grasse on the weekend of September 7 and 8. This event, now become essential in the departmental ecological landscape, eagerly awaited by many fans of the organic, will highlight the “Cuisine du Terroir” and “Arts de la Table”.

Consumers increasingly demanding on the origin and quality of the products on their plate can buy directly from organic producers.
Under a 1,000 m2 tent, local organic producers will invest the capital of perfumes, Place of Cours Honoré Cresp, to provide healthy products, such as locally grown seasonal vegetables or fruits matured  in our good sun of Provence. On sale as well: olive oil, olive paste, goat cheese, honey, products based on herbal aromatic and medicinal fragrance (essential oils, hidrolats, flowers jelly…).

Olfactory and sensory animation

In addition to the food part, an information booth will also be available to inform the visitors about organic farming, retail outlet , opportunities for involvement as consum’actor ! But it will also be possible to discover how to use a small flour mill, to attend an olfactory and sensory animation, as well as the distillation of floral essence.
At the Palais des Congrès, different sectors will be represented, such as well-being, ecological habitat and renewable energies, tableware, eco-friendly accommodation, workshops, interactive animations facilitating access to knowledge and practical information, and introducing daily behaviors more respectful of the environment.

Demonstrations and tastings

On the agenda as well, culinary demonstrations and tastings, such as culinary creativity workshop and olive oils “tartines gourmandes” by Monique Brault / Domaine de La Royrie, demonstration by starred chef Jacques Chibois who offers to discover his compositions around the “Big Squid and Fennel Puree” and chef Yves Terrillon with his gourmet recipe, decorated with dried flowers: “Soup of White Peach with Jasmine, Pistachios and Figs”.
Organic or conventional, what differences? Learn from this workshop to compare organic and conventional products, according to their crop itineraries, manufacturing processes and sources of raw materials. You will learn to recognize the characteristics of production and manufacturing, to know the environmental and health risks associated with them.
Restoration places with a picnic area built under the gazebo will host lunch on grass to enjoy a relaxing time.

An event of well-being that should not be missed, and no worry about parking your car, parking is offered by the city of Grasse.
