Saint Laurent by Bertrand Bonello

The French autodidact realisteur Bertrand Bonello, who has a predilection for risky topics such as pornography, blurred sexual identity, pleasure, prostitution, offers his biopic of Yves Saint Laurent on the Croisette.
This is the third time he participates in the official selection, after Tiriesa (2003) and L’Apollonide (2011).

After many obstacles and despite a competitor biopic formalized by the blessing of Pierre Bergé, YSL’s former companion and testamentary heir, the “unauthorized” film evokes the trash years from 1965 to 1976. If during this period the famous designer achieved fame on a professional level, on a personal level, his life was troubled and nefarious. In the film, Bertrand Bonello has sought to show how much it costs, every day, to be Yves Saint Laurent and pursue work, a creative process up to the point of risking self-destruction.

Bertrand Bonello’s major films: The Pornographer (2001) Tiresia (2003), On War (2008), L’Apollonide – Memories of Close House (2011)

With Gaspard Ulliel (Yves Saint Laurent), Léa Seydoux (LouLou de la Falaise) and Jérémie Renier (Pierre Bergé).

Relatos Salvajes (Wild Tales) by Damian Szifron

Todos podemos per el control (Every one may loose control) the trailer says. Wild Tales is a series of cruel and surreal skits and tableaux staging people, who exasperated by injustice, inequality and the requirements and constraints of the modern world, violently break down.
Facing a changing and imprevisible reality, their feeling of inadequacy is so strong, the distress so unbearable, that they crack up and cross the thin line between civilization and barbarism.
Wild Tales talks about the capitalist society like in a transparent cage that diminishes our sensitivity and distorts our relationships. Into this unknown cage, some keep their self-control or fall into a depression, but some swing into action.
An impounded car turn a good father into aterrorist, another father ready to buy a cover for his son overthrow and kill a pregnant woman, a waitress becomes a poisoner, a mistaken bride retaliates…

Damian Szifron’s Argentinean film Relatos Salvajes is produced by Pedro Amoldovar. With Ricardo Darin, Leonardo Sbaraglia, Dario Grandinetti, Darío Grandinetti.
