Team Casteu To Conquer Dakar 2015

At the National Sports Museum, Mayor of Nice Christian Estrosi introduced the team of Nice motorcycle rider David Casteu that will compete in the upcoming Dakar in January 2015.

The City of Nice, capital of the Sport in the French Riviera, has great sportsmen among its inhabitants and Christian Estrosi, MP-Mayor of Nice – President of the Metropole Nice Côte d’Azur, supports its great champions. As part of the support of the City of Nice to a Niçois champion, he introduced David Casteu, who is fielding a competitive Team Casteu in the next Dakar race.

On Monday, November 17, 2014, a month and a half ahead of the Dakar, the presentation of the Team Casteu took place at the National Sports Museum located at the Allianz Stadium Riviera in Nice, in the presence of pilot David Casteu and Etienne Lavigne, Director of the Dakar as well as many managers of companies partner of the Team Casteu.

David Casteu, World Champion in 2010, 2nd in the Dakar in 2007 and 10th in the last edition – despite a broken collarbone – has won the Dakar Series, a three events challenge held in South America (Argentina, Paraguay and Peru). He had already won the Dakar Series in 2013.

Ultimate victory

At the head of a structure that has grown steadily in recent years, which today includes six pilot, the pilot of Nice has made the Dakar 2015 a major objective with the aim of final victory. David Casteu will set off for his 12th Dakar, taking with him the five pilot of his team introduced at the presentation: Romain Souvignet, Charles Cuypers, Thierry Domenach, Charles Monier and Jean-Christophe Ménard.

Through this presentation, David Casteu shows its commitment to the National Sports Museum. At the opening of the Museum, he had already donated several emblematic objects like his bike of 2010 world champion, his trophies from the Dakar, his helmets…

The pilot said that the Dakar was a magical competition, “the competition of his life!” and he was very happy to start the Dakar 2015 wearing the colors of his own team and his partners. His physical condition is “at its best” and so is his bike and his team. We wish him the best for the victory.
