Château de Berne in Lorgues

The Auberge of the Château de Berne is a recent Relais & Chateaux stopover. The 600 hectares wine estate has celebrated its tenth anniversary. Mr Mark Dixon, British businessman and owner and general manager, Mr Didier Fritz furbish hundred projects between hotel, restaurants, vineyards and cultural season with Jazz concerts and theme days such as antique fairs or Terroir Day as well as art exhibitions. The four stars Hôtel has 19 newly-refurbished rooms and suites, subtly decorated in "chic country" style, a fitness center, saunas, a massage and beauty salon, a heated swimming pool, a tennis court, and pétanque pitch. In this place with many activities, chef Sebastian Nouveau, a veteran of Jacques Chibois, has the desire, the manner and the mastery to animate two restaurants: the Bouscarelle, a Provencal Brasserie at midday, with grilled meals on vine shoots and in the evening, the Orangeraie, the gastronomic restaurant, with pergola terrace, near the fountain at the square, opposite the castle. The hostel also has its country Bistro, friendly and accessible, to discover this charming address with Provencal luxury. The wine cellar offers Rosé, red and white wines and Château de Berne wine specialists are pleased to introduce the aromas, the robe and tannins during a wine tasting.
