Unique(s) exhibition: when art is coming to the table
On June 8 at the Escoffier Museum of Culinary Art in Villeneuve-Loubet was inaugurated the exhibition Unique(s) - Universe of the Table From Renoir to Tim Burton, in the presence of the President of the Escoffier Foundation, Michel Escoffier, Michel Bourdin, Curator of the Museum of Culinary Arts, members of the Board, the Mayor Mr. Lionel Luca, and a prestigious surprise guest: HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco.
This exhibition features unique works, which are found nowhere else, staged in every room of the Museum. Auguste Renoir: the bulging daubière seems to end its cooking: Aline Renoir was cooking for "his" painter at the Domaine des Collettes... This stove is exposed for the first time thanks to a loan of the Renoir Museum in Cagnes sur Mer. Novelli Olivier (Maître d’Hôtel - Le Chantecler - Hotel Negresco in Nice) shows the table he created to win the contest MOF (Best Crafstman in France) : elegance of the service, beauty of a table set up, and rigor and precision of gesture that accompanies his job. The Apreca (Association of Côte d'Azur Pastry Chefs Restaurant) showcases their ephemeral sweet creations as a delicious buffet, between sugar and chocolate, candies and reveries in which sneaked a nod to the famous " Alice in Wonderland. " The Palace of Monaco has provided an historical table: the refinement of the table set up for the wedding of Princess Charlene and Prince Albert of Monaco. Not far away, the sovereign's parents setting will charm visitors. Christian Sinicropi (Chef des Cuisines - Hotel Martinez in Cannes) reveals his creativity and unique world in an intimate room, away from La Palme d'Or kitchens. His paintings challenge the visitor with an invitation to internal questioning, his ceramic works in collaboration with his wife Catherine, are real media for his culinary creations. Aline Talbodec (Table Set Designer - Couleur & Sens - Var) love the story telling of objects on a table: her achievements have been created for this exhibition, first at the heart of garden of Provence terracotta, then in honor of the great Alain Chapel, in the Chefs Room. After the speeches, Prince Albert of Monaco signed the guest book and spoke in a relaxed way with Michel Escoffier.
An exhibition to discover until 31 October 2012.
