Vins & Gastronomie Annual Feast

A Festival of Wine and Gastronomy

For the annual celebration of Vins et Gastronomie, (28th edition) a publication combining fine wines and delicious recipes, on June 10 in Cannes, Yves Sacuto had chosen the beautiful Plage du Festival.

The 240 square meters Plage du Festival, with its two entrances, was privatized for this great gastronomic event. Around the central bar, guests could enjoy all-you-can-eat buffet and drinks, in a very Riviera white and light wood tones atmosphere, punctuated with plant incursions made of palm trees, cacti and succulents.

Perfect organization, warm hospitality for many guests to discover the place while enjoying delicious recipes concocted by chefs who came from their prestigious institutions to present their specialties such as Jacques Chibois (La Bastide Saint Antoine in Grasse), Mathieu Molero (La Palme d'Or at Cannes), Didier Aniés (Grand Hotel Saint Jean Cap Ferrat) and Sébastien Mahuet (La Reserve in Nice), and many other, as well as regional food specialties with the Thau lagoon pink oysters, L'Atelier salaison and its famous Cecina, La Savoie and its excellent cheeses, the Tropézienne Tart and for the most gourmand, a delicious assortment of chocolates from La Maison Chapon.

To accompany these delicious tastings, guests could enjoyed wines by famous winemakers such as the Château Rasque (Blanc de Blanc, Château Rasque Cuvée Alexandra Rosé, Château Rasque Clos Madame Rouge), the wines of Chateau St. Maur Cru Classé, or yet the wines of Château Le Puy Saurette, the Taittinger, Jacquard or Duval Duroy champagnes, and in end of the evening, the Cognac Glemet and the Armagnac Dartigalongue, and cigars from Honduras by Maya Selva, all of that in a languishing hot June musical nightlife mood.

The Plage du Festival

A legendary beach created by Jean Mineur, the pioneer of cinema advertising, the concession of which was taken over by the famous Cannes businesswoman Anne Courtade and son Brice. Revolving around them is a team of professional led by Pascal Sucheta, formerly in charge of "La Petite Maison de Nicole" in Cannes. Given a whole makeover in one month and a half with simplicity and elegance by Jean Michel Vilmotte, the Plage du Festival boasts a Bioclimatique Biossum pergola that protects the restaurant by naturally regulating room temperature, while protecting from sun and rain and allowing its operation throughout the year. In the kitchen, Francois Valada relies on his experience at the Moulin de Mougins and Amandier de Mougins and many other renowned institutions to offer a simple and fresh Mediterranean cuisine one wants to eat in a relaxed and holydays environment.
