The Zone 1 is secured since 00:00 a.m. Half of the Coisette, including major five-star hotels is closed to non-rightly-badged persons and vehicles. Streets in Cannes are void, empty from the usual touristic city traffic. Official convoys race through the Croisette pass the Palais des Festivals in parallel with helicopters going who knows where. The highest point of the Croix des Gardes hill overlooking Cannes has become a military zone.
