Cannes is getting ready to welcome G20 delegations D-1
At D-1, a large part of Cannes, most of the seafront, is isolated from the rest of the city. Entrance is granted only on presentation of an official badge. Large amounts of police forces filter the people at the entrance points and check badges and IDs. Sirens sound everywhere and convoys preceded by motorcade speed up through deserted streets. In the morning, two people were dangling on ropes on the façade of the train station, attracting the public’s and media attention and claiming freedom for Tibet. Special police force, the GIPN, had to do acrobatics to retrieve them from their perilous situation and calmly reestablish the order.
