Berioska Ballets opens the ball
In opening of the Russian Art Festival in Cannes Palais des Festivals Grand Auditorium, a folkloric ballet, the group Berioska from National Ballet of Russia that a public keen of Russian Art came to discover. This group was created in 1948 by dancer and choreographer Nadejdina Nadezhda, People's Artist of the USSR. The Berioska ballet is a true world reference that performed in 65 countries around the world. Combining classic choreographed dances with traditional dances with female rounds, burlesque dances, quadrilles, and the famous sun dance, in which dancers dressed in traditional shimmering robes slide on stage in circumvolutions tuned in millimeters. Each of them boasted such technical mastery, that they seemed to deny the complex choreographic movements they were performing with ease and grace.
Today, Koltsova Mira, the brightest dancer in the group and "Honored Artist of the Russian People", professor and academician, who is now the artistic director, thus contributing to its immense success.
