Tea pots show their soul at Felix on the Croisette
The gastronomic restaurant Felix puts tea pots not only on its famous tables on the Croisette but also upon its wall. From December 13th, Parisian painter Bertrand Bellon's paintings are to be admired while savouring gourmet meals until next March. Contemporary artist, Bertrand Bellon is used to paint series of work of arts after a theme. From his childhood in Morocco, he remembers the daily ritual of mint tea. A rite of sharing and conviviality he later found again during his many travels to Japan, China, Vietnam... Considering that "tea or coffee, seemingly insignificant, are stepping stones of our daily lives", he has been painting teapots for years, introducing in his "still lives" transparencies that make the tea pots light, gifted with their own soul and life, floating on the canvas. His next exhibition will take him to China where he has been invited to exhibit a series of paintings of characters at Gengsi Museum in Nankin.
Bertrand Bellon's tea pots exhibition marks the launch of a new tea on the Croisette: Jean-Philippe Vanthielt, Director of Felix, joined with Christine Dattner, tea specialist for thirty years, to create the tea "Felix sur la Croisette", with delicate and refined aromas that the restaurant will offer on its carte. Creator of known blends of teas, Christine Dattner has worked with the major counters and tea brands in France. For Felix, she concocted a black tea from China with a prevailing taste of chocolate, vanilla and ginger, peppered with cocoa beans. Tea will also play a part in Felix Chef Nicolas Rondelli's Christmas and Christmas Eve menu. Each dish of the young talented will be seasoned with a touch of tea, under different forms such a light brew in a raviole sauce or as a tea-perfumed butter under the skin of a poultry.
