Cooking & Literature Festival in La Colle sur Loup

At La Colle sur Loup, on June 4 & 5, took place the event "Cooking and Literature Festival", a festive cultural event organized by the EPIC - Tourism Office who already looks like an unavoidable public and media event. Throughout the village streets were erected tables where renowned authors of cookbooks, came from the whole of France, were showcasing, dedicating and selling their books on gastronomy in all genres, live culinary knowledge, oenology and arts of the table. At the heart of a village remained authentic and for two days of friendliness, the "Cooking and Literature Festival" has helped many budding or confirmed gourmets to meet and interact with leading chefs, cooks television columnists, best sommeliers of the planet and the most famous gourmet surfers. Before a large audience, great chefs gave demonstrations of simple or sophisticated recipes but employing delicious and exceptional products. In small and shady courtyards unfolded tasting of regional wines with renowned sommeliers from starred major establishments. In a small garden dedicated to children, chairs were installed to allow visitors to watch small theater in a relaxing greenery. Children were also on the party and, disguised in cook, marched through the village streets against the «Mal Bouffe» (Junk Food) in a joyous din; drawing workshops were as well devoted to them. An splendid exhibition of paintings on the theme of the gastronomy at the Tourism Office by Micky Pfau (untill June 28, 2011), lectures, musical spaces, the gourmet rally, cinema and other cultural events have peppered these two days of happiness for the palate and the eyes.
