Hippodrome 2012-2013 Winter Meeting Highlights
The Hippodrome of the Côte d'Azur is now one of the largest in France, while the Société des Courses of Côte d'Azur ranks as the third company of horse races in France.
From 3 December 2012 to 15 March 2013, the Côte d'Azur Hippodrome will host 62 meetings including 56 Premium, 10 Nocturnes and 19 days of Events. Here are the "must" and not-to-be-missed highlights of the Côte d'Azur Hippodrome 2012-2013 Winter Meeting.
Monday, December 3: First meeting of Winter Meeting
The Winter Meeting is resuming with the first Obstacle race meeting.
Sunday, December 23: The Hippodrome celebrates Christmas
Santa Claus makes an appointment with children to celebrate Christmas with many animations
and a traditional nativity scene
Tuesday 1st January: New Year's Day
The entrance to the Hippodrome will be free for all
Saturday, January 5: Gallopers race
The Great Race Jockeys will be renamed "There is no more obstacle": the world of galloping will participate in a real trotting race, means for bets. This will be an opportunity to test the talent of gallopers who will use this time the Trotters' sulkies. Jockeys will indulge in an autograph session.
Sunday, January 6: Great Obstacle Day
The Great Obstacle Day will conclude as each year the Meeting of the Obstacle Racecourse Côte d'Azur. Program: the Grand Prix of the City of Nice - Grand Steeple Chase (Group III), the Great Hurdle Race of Cagnes, the Prize Christian de l'Hermite and PriZe André Masséna. These high-level races will be punctuated by a horse show.

Sunday, February 10: Mediterranean Championship
The Mediterranean will be honored at the Mediterranean Jockeys Championship of flat racing jockeys bringing together jockeys from different Mediterranean nations who will be entrusted with horses trained by coaches participating in the Winter Meeting Riviera.
Saturday, February 16: Gentlemen & Lady Riders Race - Fegentri Sport Event
Fegentri (International Federation of Gentlemen & Lady Riders) is a amateur circuit involving fifty stages in a dozen countries. A Fegentri event will be held at the Hippodrome Côte d'Azur. The site will sport the colors of different nations.
Saturday, February 23: Gallop Challenge - Animation: "La Petite Ferme Pédagogique" ("The Small Educational Farm")
The Hippodrome Côte d'Azur will host the first stage of the Challenge run in 16 stages on great French and foreign racetracks. It will mark the culmination of the Meeting of Flat Racing.
This is an opportunity to find again an animation which had a great success last year, The Small Educational Farm, which will enable children to enjoy discovery workshops, and meet the farm animals.
Sunday, March 10: Grand Speed Criterium
This legend event, that saw the Trot greatest cracks triumph, is run annually on the distance of the mile. It traditionally opposes the best champions of the time. This meeting will be beautiful peppered with a horse show. It will precede the end of the Winter meeting ending on March 15.
All weekend of races (except Saturday, March 2), free entertainment are offered to children: Riding, Ponies Horse back, Inflatable Structure. The Hippodrome offers two restaurants with menus developed by Pavillion Traiteur and four other restorations venues, including the famous "Club des Propriétaires" (Owners Club) on a terrace overlooking the racetracks.
