The Day of Europe
On Monday, May 9, the day of Europe settled in front the Palais des Festivals. After a reception at the City Hall of Cannes, which was attended by the Consuls from many countries of the European Union and personalities of Cannes, Mr Bernard Brochand, the Deputy - Mayor of Cannes thanked those attending and offered them the book of the city. Then on the Palais des Festival square, surrounded by many children and in front of colorful stands decorated with flags, Mr David Lisnard, Deputy Premier spoked in turn to sing the praises of Europe and five children in five classes and different schools asked questions the consuls. The animation was upbeat with a presentation of folk dances and parades of children carrying flags on the Croisette. The event ended with a concert of country music.
