Kayo Fujino’s tribute to the Japanese people


As part of North-South Development Association 14 years, singer Kayo Fujino paid tribute to the Japanese people wounded by numerous earthquakes and nuclear disaster with a unique concert Sunday, October 9th on the stage of the Espace Miramar in Cannes, accompanied on piano by Kioko Motono. Kayo Fujino interpretation works imbued with a romance she has the secret. La Diva (soprano) brought an exotic French touch to the Japanese opera. After the conservatory of Kyoto, she excels in the art of bringing people together. She combines her lyrical passion with folk song and poetry from her ancestral country. In love with France, she likes to compose in French. Several of her albums pay tribute to francophonie. Her works are a celebration of women and Japanese women in their struggle for emancipation. Talented pianist Kioko Motono who accompanied the Diva studied at the Toho Gakuen in Tokyo, the Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris. She gave many concerts in France (Centre Georges Pompidou, Auditorium of Caen, the Museum of the Navy, the Japanese Embassy in Paris, etc..) and abroad (Germany, Japan, South Africa). Among the works performed by Kayo Fujino, there was first Japonesque, then Aoniyoshi Nara, Au Printemps, Shizu, O You My Love, or Light of the Morning, and many other songs that enraptured audiences all to the Japanese cause. The event was organized by the North South Development Association, which for 14 years has been at the heart of the development of social cohesion through culture and promote relations between North and South hemispheres. North South Development organizes events such as the Rhythm and Voice of the South Festival (Urban Community of Lille from 1997 to 2003), the Pan African Film Festival in Cannes since 2004.
