A Cannes chef, Bruno Oger, cooks for cinema elite
With Electrolux, two cultural worlds are meeting in Festival de Cannes: the seventh Art and Culinary Art. Gastronomy is honored to join the fame of the greatest film festival in the world. Culinary Art is part of the French cultural heritage, it thus made sense for it to be with the elite of the world cinema. Electrolux has brought to the Festival its concept of Chef's Table: a table d'hôtes right in the middle of the cuisine, a unique concept that allows guests to see their meal being elaborated by chef Bruno Oger.
46 year-old Bruno Oger is a world-renowned chef and an important player at Festival de Cannes since he made the greatest offical dinners, including those of 50th and 60th birthdays. After making debuts with Georges Blanc's prestigious restaurant in Vonnas, he orchestrated the kitchens of the Normandy, the restaurant of Hotel Oriental in Bangkok. At 29, he opened La Villa des Lys at the Majestic Barriere hotel in Cannes. Finally, in May 2010 he opened his own house, La Bastide Bruno Oger, with Villa Archange, gastronomic two-star restaurant, Le Bistrot des Anges, a chic brasserie and the Angel Bar.
Bruno Oger has been chosen to create the Opening Dinner of the 65th edition of the Festival du Film de Cannes on May 16. He was also entrusted with the meal of the charity event for Haiti, an event organized by Sean Penn, which was held on May 18. During the Festival, he signed the menus of the Thierry Fremaux's table d'hôtes. Many artists came to congratulate him for the creativity and incomparable taste of his creations, including Bruce Willis or the Dardenne brothers and Berenice Béjo has insisted that the chief gives her the secret of his delicious madeleines.
