Lacoste Flight Case Pop Up Concept

Lacoste, celebrating 80 Years of Authenticity, Elegance and Retail Innovation

At the 2012 TFWA - World Exhibition, in the run up to its 80th anniversary, Lacoste, the iconic French fashion company, was introducing its new collections alongside an exciting new retail concept - the Lacoste Flight Case Pop-Up Store.

In 1933, a major break-through revolutionised men’s fashion when René Lacoste invented the legendary classic Lacoste polo shirt – a modern and innovative replacement for the woven fabrics, long-sleeves and starched shirts that were prevalent on the tennis courts in the 1930s.

The Lacoste legend began back in 1933 when René Lacoste invented the legendary classic Lacoste polo shirt – a modern and innovative replacement for the woven fabrics, long-sleeves and starched shirts that were prevalent on the tennis courts in the 1930s.  Over the past eight decades, the brand has built upon the iconic polo shirt creating a name for authenticity, elegance and performance, alongside the reputation for unconventional chic that René Lacoste, (AKA The Crocodile) and his wife, Simone Thion de la Chaume, began all those decades ago.

In celebration of this 80th anniversary, Lacoste has created an exclusive collection that revisits the timeless style of the brand, reinventing the symbols, materials and codes that epitomise this ‘Unconventional Chic’. However, the expertise of Lacoste does not stop at the product.  In appreciating that the very best products need the right environment and support in a Travel Retail retail setting, Lacoste have developed an innovative new retail design concept that will help enhance sales over its 224 POS across 55 countries.

The Flight Case Pop-up Store Concept is a toolbox of mobile furniture specifically designed for airport environments that offers remarkable versatility, opening up an array of new options for retailers in the way that the Lacoste brand can be presented. The series of co-ordinated modular pieces come in a variety of sizes and shapes that can be arranged in an almost unlimited range of permutations, offering a variety of options for retailers to tailor bespoke in-store displays to align with retail requirements, space and target shopper profiles.  And, true to Lacoste’s principles, it is elegantly functional, displaying products beautifully, making it easy to shop and replenish. The units are also perfectly proportioned to accommodate hanging and folded clothing as well as all types of Lacoste accessories, including leather goods, eyewear, jewellery and watches.
