The Creole Festival unfolds its colors in Nice Albert 1er Gardens

From August 5 to 7, in the Albert 1er Gardens, the Creole village opened its doors all in music and bright colors for the delight of visitors, inaugurated by Mr Benoit Kandel, Firts Deputy to the Mayor and Mr José Toribio, Mayor of Lamentin in Guadeloupe.. In this space, however modest, but that draws us because of the scent of tropical flowers and that of spicy local products such as saffron, cumin, cloves, pepper or ginger, spread on stands covered with madras tablecloths full of exoticism. The good-natured kindness of participants, Islanders own special manners, eventually seduce and totally bewitch us. Our taste buds were also of the party with delicious tastings such as the Caribbean Yaw Yaw black pudding, or fish stuffed with "giraumon" (sort of local squash), the "moelleux de banane", a slightly sweet white wine made from the fermentation of banana, ideal with foie gras or a fish rillettes. This wine won the innovation prize of in Agribusiness international fair and the first prize at the Salon de Pointe à Pitre. To be enjoyed for a modest price of 10 € a bottle. These days were a gathering of Creole culture from the Guadeloupe, the Martinique or French Guiana. In the evening, at a trade winds scented temperature and tropical atmosphere, the party continued with musical shows full of rhythms and sugar cane.
