A Nice Pilot in The Raid Dakar

On November 18, at the Villa Massena, took place, attended by the Deputy Mayor Christian Estrosi, the presentation of Nice pilot David Casteu's Yamaha 450, who will participate in the Dakar 2012. The sports director of A.S.O. (Amery Sport Organisation) David Castera introduced the new itinerary of the race which will starts from Mar Del Plata (Argentina) on January 1, 2012, go across Chile and the famous Atacama Desert and end in Lima (Peru). David Casteu, already crowned a 450 Champion of the World in 2010, looking for another victory, said he was pleased to participate in his 11th Dakar and especially with the Yamaha team with which he signed for 3 years and who has put its technical capacity and experience in the adventure with a powerful and fast bike, completely different from that of 2011. Already second in a previous edition, he told to aim for a win after the difficulties encountered in the previous year due to lack of funds. David Casteu participated at his first Dakar in 2003 where he finished in 39th place on a Honda XR, 32nd in 2004, he won the Trophy Elf (Cagiva 1000), in 2005 he finished 13th overall, and winner of the first private Elf Trophy - KTM. In 2006 he is eighth, winner of a special (KTM), he finished second in 2007, the 2008 is canceled, in 2009, he finished fourth, in 2010, he won the first stage but dropped in fall (Sherco ), and finally in 2011 he finished far back at the 66th place, due to repeated mechanical problems (Sherco). He also wants to participate in the 2012 World Championship.
