Repetto Danses in Duty Free Retail

Repetto on the Luxury Segment

The prestigious French fashion house Repetto was until now more known for its classic dance shoes and accessories from "22 rue de la Paix" in Paris. Created 65 years ago and acquired in 1999 by former Reebok's Jean-Marc Gaucher, it presented at TFWA - WE 2012 its new collections of fine leather goods: bags and shoes, declined in colors ranging from pastel to citrus-inspired colors, keeping a kind of classicism that appeals to followers of the brand, and a collection of ready-to-wear. It must be said that with its six annual collections, the brand has been attracting the interest of an increasing clientele of connoisseurs looking for chic and upscale products. Headed by Jean-Paul Gaucher who bought the famous brand in 1999 when on verge of bankruptcy, the house turns more than ever to the world of luxury on the international scene and boasts a new store design and display dedicated to the Duty Free market, with a shop at the airport in Nice, Beirut and Manila and Seoul Incheon soon in spring 2012.

Repetto employs 265 people and has a turnover of over € 50 million, and collaborates with many fashion stars. This year, the made in France brand has created a special shoe for Japan following the earthquake and tsunami. The ballet shoe wears a Japanese flag and world solidarity on the heel for a price of 165 euros. This amount is paid to the victims of the tsunami. Repetto annually donated to poor countries like Cuba by sending 27,000 pieces of dance items.

Repetto CEO Jean-Marc Gaucher was rewarded at the end of 2012 by the Innovation Award, Ile de France, grand prize Entrepreneur Ernst & Young, and was elected Entrepreneur of the Year by French BFM TV.
