BNP Real Estate NOVO Tower

NEVO, an original concept of vegetated housing tower

BNP Paribas Real Estate has presented at MIPIM a "environmental" skyscraper new way of designing and building height "NEVO" (contraction of Natural Evolution) project initiated in late 2010 by BNP Paribas Real Estate Residential in cooperation with the firm Brenac & Gonsalez. The objective of this concept is to offer a wider reflection on the concept of great height habitat.

The NEVO tower was not thought to a particular site. It stands out as an evolving system, a model that can adapt to any context, to any type of urban form (the presented prototype is located along the Seine). Pierre Sorel, CEO of BNP Paribas Residential Real Estate says: "The preservation of rural areas is closely related to the density and height of buildings in urban areas. To meet this new challenge, tower construction of a new type combining verticality and landscape, nature and architecture, is required. To permanently change the deteriorated vision of towers from the years 1960/1970, the need to introduce market qualitative projects, exceptional and unique, such as the tower NEVO is obvious. ". Each apartment is a villa offering external extensions, extensively planted gardens, greenhouses... The tower becomes part of the landscape. This tower of 228 homes will meet the requirements of the BBC label with a primary energy consumption limited to 65 kWh/m2/year for housing. However, the environmental performance of a building can not be measured in its sole consumption but also in the creation of value and wealth it generates. The comfort of the inhabitants, the qualities of use, the ownership of a space are values of sustainability. "Through this project, the perception of the towers could evolve favorably in relation to urban policy of 60 years," Peter Sorel says.
