The carnival parade at night (illuminated Corso)

The 20 floats, whose subjects are devoted to the transgression, gibe at news and society with irony and humor. Mixing cardboard and advanced technology, they are imposing and colorful. Around each of the elements of animation and satellite street art troops complement the show. They are the fruit of the passion of the Carnavaliers issuing from a  numerous family generations tradition of master carnavaliers: Jean-Pierre Povigna, Pierre and Gilles Povigna, his sons; Cedric Pignataro, Johan Garcia (sculptors), Frederic Durand and Raoul Ruzziconi. The carnival parade takes place in the heart of the city, the Place Massena.

During the 2012 Carnival, the Carnaval de Nice welcomes official delegations from Great Britain, gest of honor, some dedicated floats and troops like Maoghani (Notting Hill Carnival) or a group of Scottish bagpipes to mark this very special and strong bond uniting the two countries. Indeed, the most important event of the sporting world taking place in London, it was legitimate to reserve this title. Carnival also emphasizes the historic links with Nice. Initiators of tourism, the British chose Nice as one of the top destinations in the 19th century.

At night, the Carnival parade, the Corso, get an unmatched  munificence of colors, lights and expressions.
