CCTV and France Televisions Agreement

 

France Televisions to Chinese time


At MIPTV, on April 3, was signed a draft agreement between French and Chinese public televisions. This agreement illustrates the strategic intent of France Televisions to approach European and worldwide large groups of public audio visual. To celebrate her marriage to the large Chinese group, owner of forty televisions, Remy Pflimlin, president of FT had made the trip with all the staff of the chains from his group to meet Ming Luo, Vice President of CCTV. The partnership agreement will focus on production, joint production and sharing of documentaries, notably between France 5 and CCTV 9, the chains of the two groups which are the biggest consumers.

Several film projects have already been created through the cooperation established between the teams of France Televisions and CCTV. Since September 2011, France Ô, "Sinosphère", a weekly 26-minute on mainland China, is proposed, produced especially from images acquired from the CCTV.  More recently, during the Chinese New Year, France Ô has begun with CCTV an antenna partnership with the airing on Franceo.fr, of the CCTV broadcast on festivities in Shanghai and the replay on France O of the highlights of the festivities.

CCTV9 airs many documentaries like recently the resumption of the Apocalypse series on World War II, whose distribution has been very popular with Chinese viewers.

CCTV has also co-produced with France Television "Oceans", the superb documentary by Jacques Perrin, who also officiates as a consultant on CCTV9. "The viewers are very fond of French culture!" concluded Mr. Luo Ming and Mr. Pfimlin said he was happy to seal this partnership: "An old and solid friendship between our two groups."

The desire to get closer to European and overseas public television allows a number of reconciliation of: Purchases and sales of mutual program; Facilitation of major productions; Exchanges of information and market data;  Support for training and information; The definition of strategies.

At a time when public broadcasting landscapes of the world are evolving ever faster, it is more important than ever to unite to develop common strategies to maintain quality leading public services.
