If you like jazz, if you like places of exception, take a detour this summer by the city of Cannes and stop at the Villa Domergue. In this unique and magical place full of history, where the painter whose first name was Jean Gabriel, left an indelible mark with his talent, and whose spirit still lurks in the walls, and the scenery behind it. There, for 4 unforgettable nights, slip among the 300 privileged people who have an appointment each night to attend this exceptional "Jazz à Domergue" program. On arrival, in front of a secular park, an imposing gate will open to you on a driveway lined with magnificent century-old trees and stately stone sculptures. The Villa Domergue will stand before you as the heroine of a fairy tale in its old stones dressing and haunted by the passage of many internationally-known artists. But one, more particularly, lives today in our minds, and is worth a visit, as he is currently exhibiting hos works, as part of the event "The Art and Côte d'Azur", the Belgian sculptor and ceramist, Reinhoud, one of the protagonists at the origin of the Cobra group, whose ceramics are produced as early as 2001 in the workshop of ceramist Hans Spinner in Grasse. Then you will climb a huge stone staircase lined with cypress trees, with fountains at each level, its top flirting with the 7th Heaven and thus joining the city of the 7th art, Cannes and its cinema, overlooking an enchanting panoramic view of the bay and Lerins Islands. Below, a large and beautiful terrace welcomes you in these musical and secret nights. In the warmth of a summer night, the magic works with in opening of the Festival, the artist Tigran Hamasyan and his piano, just a prodigy in piano solo. Tigran delivers us a sublime poetic session rooted in Armenian roots. The world told by Tigran Hamasyan invent itself in a simple and vivid imagination, his playing of notes stand out like pearls bouncing on the keyboard, for pieces dug into the Armenian repertoire, in a wandering, changing, abrasive soul, going from sharp to low tones, in depth for some measures. The personality of the young pianist asserts iself with modestly on this session, shaped like a musical reverie, gone with gentle poetry through. Before "A Fable", Tigran as a leader, recorded three albums for European labels: "Word Passion" (2006), "New Era" (2008) and "Raid Hail" (2009). He was honored as one of jazz's most important revelations of recent years by critics impressed by his artistry. In this prodigy, it's not just the technique that impresses, but the way he literally dive into the notes, keep them at his fingertips and make them twirl in a breathtaking ballet. The second show is scheduled on August 4 with Greg Houben Quintet, then on August 5, Gypsy Jazz with Gadjo Combo Quartet and finally on August 6, Cecile Mc Lorin Quartet, a young Franco-American Jazz singer. This program was put together by Mr. Frederic Ballester, Director of the Centre d'Art de la Malmaison with the collaboration of Guy Petters Gallery from Saint Paul de Vence.
