Cannes Hosts Heavent Meetings Sud

How to catch the public's attention: in event business you have to stand out and be creative. Social media allows all that, and at low cost. Brains and a bit of fantasy only are required to stand out; perhaps would you have to do original or unconventional things? If you aren't standing out, you are blending in! Heavent Meetings South back in the City of Festivals
Organized by Tarsus France, Heavent Meetings Sud brought together for two days of "event and tourism business", providers and OEMs at the Cannes Palais des Festivals et des Congrès. On March 21 and 22, 2012, the Heavent show had invited more than 200 topbuyers from Paris, event agencies or large companies with an event department, but also from the South of France, to meet some 120 exhibitors: suppliers for event in the South or subsidiaries, local authorities, and many actors in the events business: caterers, hostesses agencies, entertainment, decoration, or technical solutions: visual, sound, light, video, etc. Many places hosting events were showcasing their assets: hotels, destinations, castles, etc. Cannes, as host of the Heavent Meetings South was well represented: the Cannes Palais des Festivals et des Congrès and Cannes palaces were welcoming many buyers.
The aim of the exhibition was to reinvent an major appointment by combining what had made the success of Heavent Sud in Cannes and Heavent Meetings in Deauville: an upscale meeting show on accreditation, where exhibitors who are participating for the majority of them to world-famous events taking place in Cannes, were welcoming selected Top Buyers during pre-organized appointments. The show main idea was to bring together exhibitors and buyers around optimized targeted appointments after matching interest criteria. Exhibitors and buyers could then get better acquainted during friendly business lunches. Participants could also attend conferences dealing with the use of social networks for promoting their event, the use of digital marketing, reinventing events or the future of the "meeting industry".
All in all, 2,500 participants have been attending the event in Cannes, which is quite an ideal place for this type of events, considering that tourism and world-class events and business convention generates strong demand for quality events and suppliers.
The highlight of Heavent Meetings, The Trophies of The Event, co-organized by Heavent and the Magazine Evenement(s), rewarded the most significant events of the past year. Through them, advertisers and agencies were honored, not to mention the major providers and places involved in their realization.

At Heavent Meetings South, one of the most attended stand was the one of Cannes Is Yours, promoting the City of Cannes. The Palais des Festivals of Cannes, managed by the SEMEC, has among its missions the promotion and marketing of the city of Cannes. Cannes is the only destination in the world to identify itself with a brand, an internationally recognized label. Common to business tourism and leisure tourism, the concept is based on the ownership of the city by the client.
