Chaired by Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar, the Jury of the 70th Festival de Cannes unveiled the names of the winners at the prize-giving ceremony on Sunday, May 28, 2017.
After an ultimate glamorous Red Carpet, the Mistress of Ceremonies Monica Bellucci welcomed on the stage of the Grand Theater Lumière the Jury and the winners of the 70th Festival de Cannes. Pedro Almodóvar and French actress Juliette Binoche had the honor of awarding the Palme d’Or to Ruben Östlund for his film The Square selected as the best of the nineteen films in Competition.
At the end of the Awards ceremony, The Square was screened for a gathering of celebrities and personalities from the cinema, fashion and the arts to close this brilliant, rich in screenings and events 70th milestone edition.
