Cannes Lions 2014

Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 2014

From June 15-21 Cannes Lions will bring together the global creative communications industry, offering a hotbed for innovation, new thinking and pioneering technology.

Seven days of inspirational sessions inside the Palais des Festivals will be attended by more than 11,000 members of the global communication and creativity, to participate to the learning program and feed up on inventive ideas.

An outstanding Range of Speakers

On the theme of “Creativity in Action”, the conference agenda will focus on the hardest point concerning creativity: how to find the inspiration that will spark creative new ideas? And second issue: what effective ways are to be used to turn this spark into genuine innovations, thus putting creativity into action?
On seminars, speakers coming from the worlds of creativity, branding, production, design, gaming, technology, business, fashion, music, media, publishing, entertainment, psychology, engineering and science will provide precious insight.
Industry legends will include BBDO Worldwide’s David Lubars, MDC Partners’ Chuck Porter, and chairman, Crispin Porter + Bogusky; Pereira & O’Dell’s PJ Pereira; WPP’s Sir Martin Sorrell, and Wieden+Kennedy’s Colleen Decourcy.
Leaders from global tech companies will also speak, including Sheryl Sandberg, chief operation officer at Facebook, Marissa Mayer, CEO of Yahoo! and Ben Silbermann, co-founder and CEO of Pinterest.

Concerning the entertainment side, actor and director Ralph Fiennes, singer-songwriter Courtney Love, for Grey’s 8th annual music seminar, and supermodel Gisele Bündchen will take to the stage.

During Cannes Lions, Lions Live will deliver live streaming across the globe of selected world-class seminars on the Cannes Lions YouTube channel voted for by the public.

Creative Women in the Spotlight

More than 80% of purchasing decisions are made by women, thus, marketers are increasingly demanding more female creative talent to work on their brands. The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity is launching a new initiative aiming to further women’s careers in the creative industry. Across three days, 12 invited women will be part of a unique inspirational and educational programme and filmmaking project, resulting in a short documentary showing how a more gender-balanced creative industry ensures better work

Innovation Day

On the theme of innovation, the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity will bring a wealth of content, offering delegates insights into the latest technologies, game changing ideas and ground-breaking work, representative of the forefront of technology and creative innovation.
During Innovation Day, delegates will have the once in a lifetime chance to win a trip to space: the video advertising platform Virool will be offering a seat on a Virgin Galactic rocket for a space flight in 2015.
