Vins et Gastronomie, the international lifestyle magazine for hedonists and epicureans, held its 29th gastronomic festival on La Croisette in Cannes.
To organize its annual culinary festival on June 29, 2014, Yves Sacuto, Managing Editor of Vins et Gastronomie, chose the beautiful Plage du Festival and its idyllic setting on La Croisette, with the backdrop of the big blue, the Lérins islands and luxury yachts to complete the postcard.
Red carpet for chefs
During the evening, the red carpet was held to welcome the prestigious Chefs from major institutions in the region. Winemakers and producers of local delicacies also offered the best of their know-how and talent.
Demonstrations and tastings
The entertainment was provided in the form of demonstrations and food and pastries tastings, prepared by the chefs present for this moment of “belle gourmandise”. It was a great opportunity for guests to meet the professional world of Haute Regional Gastronomy.
Oysters galore
The start of the Vins et Gastronomie Gastronomy Festival was given with the beautiful trays of delicate fleshy oysters from the house Papin Poget, the chips manufactured under the sun of Provence along with a new range of exotic recipes and pork meats and salt meats from the Ferme Joseph in Megeve, in a musical atmosphere provided by singer Casado.
Chefs and innovative recipes
The presentation of the latest key starred chefs of the French Riviera followed. The perfect organization and warm welcome allowed many visitors to discover the place while enjoying delicious recipes concocted by renowned chefs from prestigious institutions to present their specialties such as Jacques Chibois (La Bastide Saint Antoine in Grasse ), with his “Dôme d’Asperges à l’Emulsion de Thé Vert, Moelleux de Jaune d’œuf, Lait d’Amande au Caviar”. Mathieu Molero (Martinez, Z Plage, Cannes) presented his “Salade de Poulet Vinaigrette au Sésame, Original China Grill New Yorkalade “Confusius”. Bruno Oger from Villa Archange, Le Cannet, had prepared his “Gelée d’Huitres au Fenouil” and Yannick Frankish his “Crème Brûlée de Foie Gras, Croustillant au Miel, Fraise Crispy”.
Regional specialties
At Vins et Gastronomie festival, many buffets of specialties were also offered to guests who could taste the delicious fajitas, specialty from Mexico, country of honor this year. Specialties of Auvergne cheese such as those from Fromarsac, Savoie cheeses from Ferme Saint Joseph and its tartare of Saint Morêt also delighted palates. For lovers of sweets, the Baby Trop, traditional Tropézienne pie, the Cupcakes & Macarons, Anglo-Saxon specialty or chocolates by Patrice Chapon made sweet eyes to guests.
Wines, champagnes and cigars
To accompany these tastings, the guests enjoyed wines from famous wineries such as Château La Martinette of Alexei Dmitriev, wine enthusiast of Russian origin and Provencal winemaker for two years, who presented the latest vintages of his different cuvées. The Château Rasque (Blanc de Blanc, Château Rasque Cuvée Alexandra Rosé, Château Rasque Clos Mme Rouge), the Château de Brégançon (crus classés, owned by the Tézenas family) or the wines of Château Saint Julien (wine from the Var hills of Provence). Other prestigious wines were offered for tasting like Château Volterra, Domaine de l’Anglade, Château Saint Julien, Domaine de la Bastide Blanche, Château la Martinette, Château La Mascaronne, Bestheim & Château. The Champagnes Jeeper and Goerg and in late evening, the Cognac Glemet and Armagnac Dartigalongue and Honduran cigars by Maya Selva have delighted guests.
A Festival of Chefs
The Vins et Gastronomie festival was highlited by teh presence of Cedric Calzia (Mas du Grand Vallon, Mougins), Jacques Chibois (La Bastide Saint Antoine, Grasse), Eric Fignon (Maison Lenôtre, Côte d’Azur), Yannick Franques (Terre Blanche, Tourettes), Gui Guedda (Consultant en Cuisine Provençale), Emmanuel Lehrer (Le Mas de Pierre, Vence), Lionel Levy (Intercontinental, Hôtel Dieu, Marseille), Jean Michel Llorca (Restaurant Alain Llorca, La Colle sur Loup), Giuseppe Mandaradoni (La Pescheria, Boscolo Exedra, Nice), Mathieu Molero (Le Martinez, Z Plage, Cannes), Bruno Oger (La Villa Archange, Le Cannet), Nicolas Perez (Vallauris Plage, Golfe Juan), Emmanuel Ruz (Lou Fassum, Plascassier), Arnaud Tabarec (Le Seasens, Five Hôtel, Cannes), Yoric Tieche (Hôtel Belles Rives & Juana, Juan Les Pins), François Vadala (Plage le Festival, Cannes), Nicolas Vie (Le Moulin de Vernègues, Mallemort-en-Provence).
To finish off the evening, the sun loungers by the beach stretched their arms to relax under a starry sky. The stars were now no longer behind the buffets but into the heaven of Cannes.
