The new Cannes Hospital through the lens
As part of the concept Art Hospital, the Espace Miramar receives the exhibition «Paysages apprivoisés» (Tame Landscapes). The inauguration was attended by Frederic Ballester, Director of the Malmaison Art Centre, Mr Lefebvre, Director of the new hospital and Mr. Corbier Cannes Deputy Commissioner for Culture and the two artists, Lionel Gauci and Emilie Saubestre.
Laying the first fresco
In Cannes, city of Art and culture, instead of laying the first stone to a new affordable-rent 38 apartments program, Sub-Prefect Dominique Claire Mallemanche, Cannes Deputy-Mayor Bernard Brochand and property developer jean-Pierre Sautarel have drawn a scene of their own on visual artist Ana’s fresco under the eye of Gilles Cima, Town Planning Deputy. Ana’s fresco is designed after the name of Ligurian mythology, as buildings are called «The Ligures». The fresco will be cut in four and exhibited in each building entrance. Cannes has an international reputation but does its best to fulfill affordable-rent homes programs for active people.
Pelota in Cannes
One of Cannes features is a wall on which is practiced the Basque Pelota. The Cannes Pelota Club is one of the best clubs in France and regularly wins fame in National Challenges. The Cannes Pelota Club celebrated half a century in 2007 and two specialties of the Basque pelota are practiced throughout the year: the Grand Chistera and the gum paleta.
A new five star hotel in the heart of Cannes
At the heart of Cannes has opened a exceptional location: the Five Hotel & Spa, designed and built around a motionless voyage, by a team of passionate: architects, chefs, bakers, decorators, artisans ... all and demanding passengers, to propose a place of relaxation, well-being, gourmandise and feasting. Artists from around the World at Cannes Palais des Festivals
The association «Artists from around the World», under the patronage of Marina Picasso, organizd with the help of the City of Cannes and the Palais des Festivals a great exhibition that brought together some one hundred artists from 20 countries. From July 19 to 24, 2011, painters and sculptors have exhibited at Palais des Festivals in the Mediterranean Hall.
Cannes : the City is Yours !
As part of its communication campaign "The City is Yours," Cannes Tourism aims at the great majority and makes the buzz on the web. It launches from the month of July, the photo contest "Scenes in Cannes." based on "Unusual Cannes" theme. Participants are invited to upload their photos on the site www.cannes-photo.fr until September 30, 2011. Their photos will be submitted once for pre-selection at the Palais des Festivals and then to a jury of professional photographers, artists and international or photographs enthusiasts celebrities and representatives of Cannes institutions. Everybody can demonstrate his talents as an amateur photographer by capturing unique moments in the city of Cannes and its islands. Cannes touristic destination will benefit from a broader communication to web surfers of all nationalities. The best pictures selected by the jury will be rewarded with six stays and activities prizes in Cannes such as: dinners, spa cares, perfume workshops, overflights of the Bay by helicopter, cooking classes or shopping vouchers. Laurent Korcia at Nuits Musicales du Suquet
The Suquet Musical Nights invited Laurent Korcia, one of the few violinists to give recitals of solo violin with programs ranging from Bach to contemporary composers and likes to brush borders between the classical and popular music. His program at The Nuits Musicales du Suquet was Vivaldi's Four Seasons in the first part. In the second part, named "Cinema", he interpreted popular film musics.
Leon Buche at Nuits du Suquet : Old stones and young talent
The Suquet Musical Nights presented on July 26 again an outstanding artist. Outstanding by his enormous talent at such a young age (he is 23) and his engaging personality. German pianist Leon Buche is a phenomenon. His musical temperament, full of passion and virtuosity, his stage presence and his youthful, relaxed appearance make his concerts unforgettable and call for cheers.
Saint Cassien Patron of Cannes Celebrations
Cannes is resolutely turned towards modernity and is open to the world by the elegant events it hosts. But Cannes inhabitants know how to keep traditions alive and every year share a renewed pleasure to immerse themselves into their origins on the occasion of the Saint Jean Cassien votive feast. The Saint Cassien celebration on July 22, 23 & 24, orchestrated by the Festival Committee of Saint Cassien Cannes, perpetuate an ancient local tradition.
Château Font du Broc gives Cannes a Thrill

Cannes won’t shiver with cold this summer but, when the heat comes back, we should quench our thirst with Château Font du Broc new rosé wine : Le Frisson (The Thrill) that was launched on July 28 at BiVi wine bar. Sardines free for all at Golfe juan
The traditional Saint Pierre and Navy votive festival led to two days of celebrations in Vallauris Golfe Juan with highlights like the mass in honor of the saint patron in the little Saint Pierre church, the procession and the «Sardinade», banquet of barbecued sardines on the Port of Golfe Juan.
Jim Dine exhibition at Château Sainte Roseline

Train des Pignes: one hundred years of history
Link between the Mediterranean and the Alps, the Train des Pignes is a key element of the collective memory of the valleys through which it has been passing for over a century.
