Centenary Lunch at Intercontinental Carlton

The launch day of the Intercontinental Carlton Centenary celebration reached its peak with the centennial gala lunch. For the occasion, the Chef des Cuisines Laurent Bunel began to honor the cuisine of yesteryear, such as savored at the opening of the hotel, offering a “Centenary” menu of twelve dishes with a nod at the three services (French-style, English-style and Russian-style).

The Lunch was punctuated by toasts in the Russian way, each raising his glass in honor of a person. But the Intercontinental Carlton still was reserving a surprise to the guests: the appearance at the end of the meal of a huge star, dear to all our hearts: Marilyn. The star was kind enough to grant photographers the pose that has made the American actress legendary. When it came to dessert, François Chopinet invited Lady Butter and Bernard Brochand to cutting the hundred years birthday cake. When Champagne was served, kitchen teams that had achieved this feat centenary lunch came then to reap well-deserved congratulations, fixed for posterity in photos.
