The Cistercian monks of the Abbey of Lérins from Lérins Islands in Cannes, known to produce excellent wine, privatize their new flagship, the Saint Siffrein for unprecedented trips to discover the Lerins Islands lit at night and enjoy the musical fireworks of Cannes International Pyrotechnic Festival.
The Lérins Abbey offers a new tourist service since July 4: after boarding the Saint Siffrein and leaving the Quai des Iles at 07:30 pm, a sea excursion takes people to the Lérins Islands while savoring a meal with a glass of wine from the famous vineyards of the island. The boat is then positioned at 09:30 pm to provide an unobstructed view of the International Cannes Pyrotechnic Festival, show. At the end of the musical fireworks show, return to the Quai des Iles wharf around 11:00 p.m.. This tour allows you to admire the splendid panorama of the Lérins Islands, with the Ile Sainte Marguerite and its famous fort and prison of the Iron Mask, the Islets of Tradelière and Saint Férreol (where legend has it that Paganini was momentarily buried) and Saint Honorat, where you can admire the old fortified monastery and off, the vignobles which made the monks’ celebrity.
The new boat of the Abbey of Lérins, commissioned in June 2012, with a capacity of 100, is designed to accommodate tourist operations with great comfort. It makes trips to the Corniche d’Or, a cruise along the Esterel mountains, a coastline of red volcanic rocks shaped by the waves and diving in the turquoise blue waters of the Mediterranean. It also let people discover Antibes, Golfe-Juan, where Napoleon first landed in 1815, and the beautiful Cap d’Antibes.
Tariffs: meals (meat of fish) with mineral water for 49 €, with a glass of white wine at € 55, and with a glass of champagne for 59 €.
