The 7th edition of Chefs au Sommet d’Auron thanked the prestigious culinary partners of the Festival of Mountain Gastronomy in the Mercantour snow, during a festive lunch on the trails at Les Prés restaurant.
Chefs au Sommet d’Auron celebrated haute cuisine from 20 to 26 January 2018 with summits of tastes, mountains of flavors, peaks of culinary emotions in the heart of the iconic Mercantour ski resort. Talented chefs and pastry chefs from the French Riviera have shared moments of authenticity and gastronomic delights in a convivial atmosphere with the tourists and the inhabitants of Haute Tinée.
For the success of its seventh edition, the Festival of Mountain Gastronomy has benefited, as every year, of the support of prestigious and faithful culinary partners.
Shared culinary pleasures
With the sumptuous summits of the Mercantour as backdrop, Les Chefs au Sommet d’Auron have been celebrating Haute Gastronomie for seven years through events of culinary happiness sharing. Under the patronage of renowned pastry chef Christian Cottard from Antibes, Chefs au Sommet d’Auron have been offering a week of culinary demonstrations, playful workshops and gourmand 5 to 7 around the ice rink. During the Festival, renowned chefs performed culinary feats every night, concocting gastronomic dinners on unknown “pianos”.
The gastronomes spoiled every night
Every evening, the restaurants in Auron, Saint Dalmas-le-Selvage and Saint-Étienne de Tinée hosted in their kitchens some renowned chefs and pastry chefs from the region who made sumptuous gourmet dinners at a unique and privileged price of 45 euros per person. These exceptional dinners are savored by the fire, in the relaxed and warm atmosphere of the dining rooms decorated with woodwork of mountain restaurants. These high altitude dinners and festival events are made in partnership with prestigious wine and culinary partners.

The Knights go skiing
L’Ordre Illustre des Chevaliers de Méduse (Illustrious Order of the Knights of Medusa) was represented at the Chefs au Somme d’Auron partners lunch by four prestigious Var wine domains: the Commanderie de Peyrassol, AOP Côtes de Provence at Flassans sur Issole, made famous by Françoise Rigord; Château Rasque in Taradeau, represented by Sophie Biancone, owner; Château Carpe Diem in Cotignac, represented by Albéric Philipon and Château des Chaberts in Garéoult, represented by the journalist and oenologist Isabelle Forêt.
