The City of Cagnes sur Mer, known worldwide for its Square Bowls World Championship, is hosting the 55th edition of Expofleurs, taking the form of a “Floral Symphony” in the Haut-de-Cagnes old village setting, around the medieval castle. This floral event, now a biennial, is taking place on Easter weekend from 29 March to 1 April, 2013.
Expofleurs floral event brings together a team of striving specialists who showcase their talent through exceptional compositions and rival with exquisite craft in the use of horticultural production. Displaying their full philosophy of action and practice and their imagination, the organizers have the same goals as before: to provide the best of their knowledge and expertise. These four full bloom days are unique by their floral design, after constantly updated methods and techniques where science is not excluded. Florists and decorators are showcasing their professionalism and imagination in a setting combining flower and stone with harmony to give a delicate style. Natural colors sown with precision are exalting the contours of alleyways.
Throughout the medieval village, its narrow streets opened by arched doors, eleven sites are developed and reported by a marked trail and a brochure is distributed to visitors to learn more about the Haut-de-Cagnes while directing them towards flowered sites, among which “Le Lavoir”, “La Maison Commune” and the Church. The 2013 edition offers a novelty: the creation of a cross path with its 14 stations. Wooden crosses will be placed throughout an appropriate course and materialized for visitors. At the foot of the cross, flowerbeds will reflected the teams knowledge and imagination. Adorned with so many flowers, the medieval village is quite a picturesque site to visite.
Expofleurs is realized with the support of the Municipality of Cagnes sur Mer, the General and Regional Council, the Crédit Agricole and Groupama. Nice Qualité-Plus has again focused with great enthusiasm on this event.
