The Hôtel Barrière Le Majestic Cannes launches the summer season on the Majestic and the Gray d’Albion beaches with gastronomy, Folie Douce and bohemian atmosphere around the Mediterranean.

The Hôtel Barrière Le Majestic Cannes, at 10 La Croisette, is right opposite the Palais des Festivals. During the Festival de Cannes, its regulars are the greatest actors and directors of the 7th Art like Robert De Niro, Steven Spielberg, Morgan Freeman, Jeff Goldblum, Hugh Grantou, Monica Bellucci, Marion Cotillard, Francis Ford Coppola… The Festival marks with charm and glamor the beginning of the summer season on the beaches of the Majestic and the Gray d’Albion, a season punctuated by the farnière, the waves of the Great Blue and the Folie Douce.

Saudi Arabia’s artistic richness

On May 3 and 4, 2016, from 10:00 to 16:00, the Salon Croisette of the Hôtel Barrière Le Majestic Cannes will host the exhibition Perspective uncovered – Contemporary Art From Saudi Arabia organized by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The opening will take place on May 2 in the presence of Dr. Khalid Bin Mohammed Al Ankari, Saudi Ambassador to France, and artists.
All the wealth of the artistic creation in Saudi Arabia will be presented by 13 young Saudi talents. The works propose a great diversity in the choice of subjects, materials and production techniques and will be displayed in groups of four artists, a woman and three men.
Lulwah Al Homoud, Mohammed Farea, Talal Al Zeid, Ahmad Al Kuhaili are the headliners of this exhibition.

Folie Douce on the Beach

La Folie Douce is back on Plage du Majestic on the shores of the Mediterranean to heat up the nights in Cannes, in a Hippie Chic decor designed by the architect Jean-Michel Villot. Every night, many talents, performers, singers, dancers, musicians, DJs succeed to offer a spectacular show.
The evening begins at 19h00 with dinner show, followed by music and entertainment peformances, choreographed by Sergey Novikov who has already imagined the show this winter in Val d’Isere.
The gastronomy is provided by Franck Mischler, executive chef of the Folie Douce evenings, creator of the La Folie Douce by Le Majestic Barrière à Cannes menu. Then around 23h00, the Dance-Floor opens under the stars and the beach becomes a temple of open-air clubbing until the end of the night.

The the most “bohème” beach in the beaches of Cannes welcomes the visitors in search of farniente and relaxation at the arrival of the first rays of sunshine in the summertime on the French Riviera.
With its completely redesigned decor, La Plage Barrière Le Gray d’Albion, a modern and trendy place, is known for the originality of its atmosphere that blends bohemian and Oriental inspirations, with the highlight of the majestic giraffe greeting visitors on sand. The blue tints voluntarily stand out on beige shades, like an echo to the mysterious Mediterranean that is licking the beach with a gentle lapping.

The gastronomy is in the hands of te chefs Maryan Gandon and Abdul Kantar who developed a carte inviting to an odyssey around the Great Blue between mediteranean, Lebanese and Italian flavors.
Evenings with entertainment are scheduled daily from July 6 to August 25 with a surprise guest every Sunday. The famous themed nights will also return to enliven the Wednesday evenings from July 6 to 31 and Thursday evenings from August 1 to 25.
La Plage Barrière Le Gray d’Albion boasts an ideal location for the special events on the occasion of International Art Fireworks Festival that illuminates the bay of Cannes throughout the summer.

Cannes Film Festival, Champagne and glitter

The Barrière Group has a long relationship with the 7th Art. The Hôtel Majestic Barrière has paid tribute last year to the film Mélodie en Sous-Sol shot in the heart of the hotel, with the inauguration of a new exceptional 200 m2 Suite, the Suite Mélodie. Located on the 7th floor, it allows to admire the beautiful bay of Cannes and see live the stars walk up the famous Marches Rouges during the Festival.
During the Cannes Film Festival, the champagne will flow: 15 000 Champagne corks and 10 000 bottles of the best wines of France will be tasted. As for gastronomy, 150 cooks will do their best to prepare the most refined dishes. On the menu in 12 days: 800 kilos of lobsters, 350 kilos of foie gras, 50 kilos of caviar, 50 kilos of chocolate, 20,000 macarons, 36,000 coffees and 1,400 croissants will delight the celebrities. Each year, nearly 500 TV and radio programs are transmitted from the hotel, live or deferred. 35,000 film professionals and 4,000 journalists will meet in the gardens of the Hotel Majestic Barriere.
