Le Domaine du Mas de Pierre: after a year and a half of complete metamorphosis, the 5* Relais & Châteaux comes to life again on May 3rd, 2021, as a new resort with confidential, relaxed and convivial luxury. At the foot of the ramparts of Saint-Paul de Vence, Le Domaine du Mas de Pierre hotel is opening a new chapter in its history, which will now be written all year round in nine Bastides and 76 rooms. In the heart of a vast Mediterranean garden, a charming and authentic hotel, chef Emmanuel Lehrer’s gastronomic restaurant and a Spa delicately perfumed with tuberose will have the spell of paradise. Bar, poolside bistro restaurant, lagoon, cooking workshops… so many inexhaustible charms will compose the magic of an enchanting stay.
Seventy-six rooms in nine Bastides
After fifteen years of dedication to its clientele, which have earned it an international reputation, Le Domaine du Mas de Pierre is being reinvented around a new identity: Le Domaine du Mas de Pierre. In the heart of its vast Mediterranean garden, the luxurious Provençal residence welcomes two brand new Bastides with an authentic and contemporary decor around La Bastide des Fleurs – the original building – in addition to the six existing Provençal bastides (Antonin, Camille, Florian, Estelle & Grégoire). Seventy-six rooms are spread across these nine Bastides, infused with romantic charm, to immerse yourself in the Art of living in Provence.
Jean Mus’ landscaping imprint
Charles Trenet could have been inspired by the originality and luxuriance of the landscaped areas of Le Domaine du Mas de Pierre for his “Jardin extraordinaire”! These eight hectares of delightfully fragrant greenery, modelled by the Grasse landscape gardener Jean Mus, offer a multitude of nooks and crannies to marvel at or relax in, for bucolic and discreet escapades in the soothing gurgling of the fountains. Planted with Provençal species, citrus trees, century-old olive trees and aromatic plants, the Mediterranean gardens are filled with monumental sculptures by famous contemporary artists such as Folon, Sosno, Lapie, César, Tobiasse… To top it all off, a greenhouse with orchids and an aviary where colourful parakeets chirp, will fill you with wonder!
An invitation to romance
Two new, magnificent buildings stand in the gardens, underneath the completely greened roofs. Interior designer Patrick Ribes has combined the authentic Mediterranean style with soft colour harmonies and atmospheres of blue, fuchsia and pink. In the 22 new rooms (Prestige Deluxe, Prestige Junior Suite, Prestige Suite, Prestige Suite Jacuzzi, some of which are communicating), the Toile de Jouy decorates the headboards and is used on the bed runners, pillows and Louis XV armchairs. Chests of drawers and baroque consoles in lacquer or silver, meridian seats and large sofas invite to romance in a cosy and refined atmosphere, thanks to the natural stone covering the floors and whitewashed walls. The rooms are spacious and have large dressing rooms.
Tailor-made services adapted to your needs
All rooms open onto a panoramic view of a greenery domain and some onto the new Lagoon. The suites are privileged by large terraces with glass railings that open up to new horizons. In the bathrooms with double basins, shower and bathtub, the products of the Maison Fragonard bring the good perfumes of Grasse to full bloom. Designed for leisure and/or business travellers, the Bastides offer a full range of tailor-made services adapted to the needs of their guests. Everything is possible: a romantic candlelit dinner in your room, breakfast on your private terrace for a great start to the day, room service at all hours, a personalised blanket service, all lulled by the gentle melody of the cicadas in summer.
La Bastide des Fleurs, an intimate setting
Inaugurated in 2014, La Bastide des Fleurs is a former farmhouse built of natural stone, covered in ivy and jasmine, which, on entering the gate, reveals a garden and a 15-metre heated swimming pool, reserved for adults only, with deckchairs and white-draped arbours. An intimate setting, the Bastide comprises six luxurious suites with terraces, all designed in a subtle decor, as if patinated by time. Dedicated exclusively to La Bastide des Fleurs, a butler also offers a tailor-made service to his guests for an extraordinary experience.
A unique and rare style
Anchored in the heart of the Domaine, six other bastides emblematic of Provence reveal a contemporary and charming style. Between balconies, loggias and private terraces, the 76 rooms offer avariety of light and bright harmonies. A nod to the beauty of Provence, the photographs, objects and paintings collected by the owner, suffuse warmth and simplicity into relaxing atmospheres where shades of white and cream give an essential elegance. The spacious white marble bathrooms add to the singular and rare style.
Chef Emmanuel Lehrer’s locavore table
La Table de Pierre, the gastronomic restaurant of Le Domaine du Mas de Pierre, opens directly onto nature and the gardens in all seasons. Surrounded by his new brigade, the chef Emmanuel Lehrer operates from his “cuisine spectacle” and introduces his guests to the gastronomic riches of the region with talent and passion, sublimating the treasures of local producers to the rhythm of the seasons. Opposite the counters, a 14-seat table d’hôtes allows guests to watch the live preparations, to share small and large dishes and to organise events and private tastings. An experience to be prolonged under the large retractable glass roof, opening, with the first rays of sunshine, onto the gardens of the Domaine.
An elegant and subtle cuisine
Franco-Austrian, Emmanuel got his first pastry chef’s outfit at the age of ten! His future is therefore mapped out. After the hotel school in Strasbourg, he trained in Switzerland with Didier de Courten and then discovered the luxury hotel business (Saint Barth, Verbier, Carcassonne, Paris). He joined Michel Rostang at Le Méridien and played a significant role in the opening of the group’s restaurants in Dubai, Vienna and Milan. After five years in various establishments in Monte-Carlo, he became head chef in 2009 at Le Mas de Pierre, keeping Michel Rostang as his culinary godfather. In this chic Provençal setting, he practices a particularly elegant and subtle Niçoise cuisine. The 5-course Inspiration Menu reflects the chef’s culinary identity.
The new Lis Orto bistrot by the pool

Regularly, and depending on the availability, the burger of the day, Dombes pigeon, matured beef or calf’s liver are invited as stars.
“Wellness” menu and ice creams
In tune with the times, the bistrot has added a menu dedicated to well-being and pleasure around its flagship dish: the Mas Bowl. A recipe that changes colours and flavours with the seasons, varying the ingredients around soba noodles, tomatoes, melons, avocados, edamame, grilled fish, asparagus, courgette fritters, artichokes… Open from April 30th from 12:00 to 14:30, lunch and dinner, 40 seats in the dining room, 40 on the terrace. “Spécialité de la maison”: some thirty recipes of ice creams and sorbets ranging from the traditional vanilla to the best-selling strawberry-basil, will refresh you for dessert or during the day.
Cooking workshops, Dimanche de Pierre, Garden Parties
For an immersion in the heart of Mediterranean flavours, chef Emmanuel Lehrer organises cooking workshops, Cooking Show of regional specialities, workshops dedicated to children and pastry making, and all the chef’s secrets on infusions from the garden will be revealed here. Every Sunday, Le Dimanche de Pierre invites guests to its table d’hôtes to taste “Les plats à partager”. A new lunch offer, placed under the sign of conviviality, and to be experienced, in the beautiful hours of the summer, on the terrace overlooking the swimming pool. Throughout the summer and until the end of September, the traditional Garden Party takes place in the gardens of Le Domaine du Mas de Pierre on Thursday evenings (every other week). A flagship concept in the heart of the Domaine dedicated to sharing, joie de vivre and laughter.
Open counters, hot plates, tightly packed aprons and a brigade on their toes, every morning opens up on a breakfast that delights young and old alike. A unique moment to witness the making of “crêpes à la minute” and to see the omelette of the day crackling before our eyes. On the long table d’hôtes, a buffet is laid out, rich in colours and flavours. You can choose from a selection of the best pastries, homemade cakes and pies, a tour of the breads and good jams from the garden, a selection of complete well-being products… To accompany this delicious moment, the house offers real morning juice, good artisanal coffee and the greatest teas in the world.

Coffee is served to whoever wants it, at any time of the day. The bar menu features a selection of Champagnes and wines from the region to be enjoyed with a series of tapas, designed to evoke Provence. Specialities: planks of charcuterie, local terrines and Nice specialities to share. The great classics of cocktails flavoured with herbs from the vegetable garden, the home-made pastis recipe or a good glass of rosé add an extra touch of Provencal soul. At any time of the day, infusions made from aromatic plants from the garden give voice to verbena, mint, thyme… The fireplace has been relocated and has found a place of choice at the bar!
The lagoon, a children’s paradise
Because there are still some paradises, le Domaine du Mas de Pierre unveils its own lagoon. A hidden oasis with a real beach, waterfalls and slides under the palm trees and paillotes. A fantastic island atmosphere to be enjoyed as two or with the family. Set back from the Bastides and through a vegetalised entrance, the Lagoon is framed by the rocks of the Provencal mountains. On the sand, deckchairs like at the beach, and in the water, the essential to treat yourself thanks to the massaging jets targeting the shoulders, the head and the back. Behind the big waterfall, a children’s area opens on a 10-metre long slide (from 4 years old).
