Lumas, operating more than 35 galleries around the world, showcased its innovative multi-channel Art gallery concept at MAPIC 2014 to seduce new markets.
Lumas, a brand of the German group Avenso, specializing in high-quality photographic art edition and distribution, was founded by Art collectors. With a portfolio of 160 renowned artists and talents, Lumas is offering some affordable and inspiring original art editions to a wider audience.
Innovative business model
In recent years, in over 35 galleries around the world, the concept Lumas has made available the variety of contemporary photography to a wider circle of young collectors and art enthusiasts. As both a publisher, using the the latest technology in printing, and a distributor, the company occupies a unique place in the world in the field of art publishing thanks to its innovative business model.
Feel at a Collector’s Home
With its new exhibition concept, The Collector’s Home, the visitors of a Lumas gallery feel like getting into the private area of an art collector. The works exhibited in the living room, kitchen or the library, are giving a realistic impression of what a work might look like at home. The portfolio of works is presented in the style of a private collection, over temporary exhibitions.
Affordable prices
The art work is provided by 160 renowned photographers, promising newcomers and historical archives. The galleries offer about 1,400 high-quality original photographs, hand-signed by artists. The editions range from 75 to 750 prints available in different sizes sold at prices between 120 et 800 €. The price for an instance of an artwork in an unlimited edition start at 60 €.
Fine art photography for everyone
Since 2003, the founders, Stefanie Harig and Marc Alexander Ullrich, are striving to make of Lumas the leader of Art editions. With some 200 collaborators, they are operating over 35 galleries in 14 countries, in cities like Berlin, Düsseldorf, Francfort, Hambourg, Cologne, Munich, Amsterdam, Bruxelles, Dubaï, Londres, New York, Paris, Vienne et Zurich.
In 2007, Lumas has launched WhiteWall, an online photo laboratory for gallery quality, serving private customers and professional photographers.
Lumas wishes that everyone may afford a fine art photography of the best quality, worthy of the greatest museums, regardless of format.
