At TFWA-WE in Cannes, Montegrappa, worldwide known for its high quality exclusive line of luxury pens and accessories, launched its Nerouno women fragrance, in addition to its gentleman’s fragrance.
Montegrappa, Italy’s oldest manufacturer of writing instruments, was founded in 1912 as “Manufacturer of gold nibs and fountain pens”. Originally known as ELMO, it has been producing finely crafted objects for over a century, with a drive to achieve excellence. The factory lies on the bank of the River Brenta, winding through the town of Bassano del Grappa.
Montegrappa has always been associated with celebrities: among the many soldiers who used ELMO pens to write letters home were two world-famous American writers, Ernest Hemingway and John Dos Passos, serving as war correspondents as well as volunteer ambulance drivers during World War One.
Montegrappa has established a series of pens in elegant tributes to iconic cultural giants such as Muhammad Ali, Frank Sinatra and Bruce Lee and soon, Elvis Presley. Most recently, another famous “warrior”, Sylvester Stallone, designed the “Chaos Pen” that enjoyed a great notoriety by featuring in a major Hollywood production, Expendables II.

NeroUno pens feature the pocket clip with small rotating sphere and the iconic octagonal shape, emphasised by the original cap top and combined with the innovative design of the 18K gold nib. NeroUno encapsulates the design values and craftsmanship of Montegrappa in every item with the collection, from writing instruments to cufflinks to wristwatches.
Given this century of heritage, craftsmanship, passion and soul, Montegrappa is proud to launch the Nerouno highly refined and sophisticated fragrances for gentlemen and ladies.
The gentleman’s fragrance combined Italian Lemons, Calabrian Bergamot, Nutmeg, Clarysage, Basil, Lavender, Petitgrain, and Juniper Berries on the top notes. Middle notes include: Clove, Gerranium, Lily of valley, Cinammon, and Cyclamen. Mottom notes for additioonal depth in are given by Vetyver Java, Patchouly, Cedarwood, Sandalwood, Musk, Amber, Tonka Bean, and Fir Balsam.
The NeroUno Lifestyle Collection has been completed this year by the fragrance for women with a bottle shaped around the brand’s signature octagonal design. The bottle’s cap boasts a rose gold finish akin to the rose gold pens and accessories in the existing collection. As with the gentleman’s fragrance, NeroUno for women was developed in Italy by Montegrappa’s master perfumers and drew inspiration from the beauty and serenity of the Monte Grappa Mountains. The elegant scent includes top notes of Bergamot Calabria and rhubarb, middle notes of Night Queen Tuberose and black rose on a base of Patchouli Indonesia, sandalwood, Gourmand Notes, vanilla, cedarwood and vetyver.
