The Hippodrome Cote d’Azur offers a glimpse of the future with optimism for the first Nocturne race of the Winter Meeting on Tuesday, February 10, 2015.
Take life easy, see the positive in any situation, is the mindset the Hippodrome Cote d’Azur offers to all visitors of the Hippodrome in the first nocturne meeting of the Winter Meeting on Tuesday, February 10. Especially since the entry will be offered to the first 150 visitors.
Nice Opera Choir performance
Visitors and bettors certainly will be keen to stick to the letter of the definition of “optimism”: frame of mind inclining to look on the bright side of things…
The evening will offer the opportunity for the public to hear the Nice Opera Choir which, between races, will perform the best songs of Charles Trenet in the great hall of the Hippodrome Côte d’Azur.

Seven trotting races
The Soirée de l’Optimisme meeting will include 7 trotting races:
Prix des Gorges de Pennafort (2,950 m)
Prix des Gorges du Daluis (2,925 m)
Prix des Gorges du Cians (2,925 m)
Prix Louis Haret (2,925 m)
Prix des Gorges de la Mescla (2,700 m)
Prix des Gorges de la Vésubie (2,150 m)
Prix des Gorges du Loup (2,150 m)
Two races will be renamed to the names of the two partners of the evening:
Prix de l’Opéra Nice Côte d’Azur: a prize will be awarded by André Chauvet, Nice Municipal Councillor, delegate to the Opera and Music
Prix Optimiste Magazine: a prize will be presented by Fabrice Vallerent, Director of Publication of the Optimist Magazine.

Charles Trenet songs
Optimism will also shine with the performance of the Nice Opera Choir which has chosen a repertoire that brings to dream and hope, with three songs by Charles Trenet: La Mer, Nationale 7 and Je chante.
The restaurants of the Hippodrome
Some menus elaborated by Pavilion Traiteur are available in the two Hippodrome restaurants with the winter menu at Restaurant Le Paddock and Restaurant Le Pesage.
On the occasion of the next two important dates of the meeting on February 21 and March 8, a unique menu “Starred Chef” will be offered.
