A centenarian re-imagined for the new generation

The animated series Zorro: The Chronicles is the first 3D adaptation of a centenary work: Zorro, a fictional character created in 1919 by Johnston McCulley. Zorro is a freedom-loving vigilante: masked and dressed in black, he fights injustice in XIXᵉ century Spanish California, living a life of idleness in day light and wielding the sword at night against tyranny. To achieve this new series, Cyber Group Studios has innovated, giving the images a very real dimension of the highest quality thanks to its new technology.

“Killed” by ridicule

Zorro: The Chronicles stage Don Diego, facing a still relevant challenge: to defend justice against unscrupulous tyrants. Zorro is an iconic, reassuring and exciting character who has captivated generations of children as he never kills: he simply is making fools of his opponents to give them a good moral lesson. Each episode provides young viewers with the indescribable pleasure to see him triumph of his opponents by making them a laughing stock. Zorro comes to save people when they most need him.

A mysterious super hero embodying justice

In the early nineteenth century, back from Spain, where he was studying, Don Diego de la Vega (a young Métis noble, born from an Indian mother and a Spanish father), discovers that Los Angeles is tyrannized by the garrison commander of the small town in Spanish California. The young nobleman decides to fight these abuses of power and becomes a subversive hero by the name of Zorro (Spanish for fox), who embodies justice in the silhouette of a Masked Rider dressed in black, coming by night, in the end signing his name with a “Z” with the point of his sword. Don Diego is assisted by Bernardo, his faithful mute servant who passes for deaf, and his black horse, Tornado. In this series, Zorro’s sister, Ines, is the female partner that plays a key role in the episodes.

Elizabeth Hurley Queen of Mipcom 2014

At the parade of stars at MIPCOM 2014 in Cannes, the sublime actress Elizabeth Hurley caused a sensation when gracing the Red Carpet on the Croisette for the presentation of The Royals.

Elizabeth Hurley, molded into a bright pink dress with a low décolleté, came as ambassador to present the new series The Royals on the famous Croisette in the Cité du Cinéma. Produced by Lionsgate Television and presented in world première at MIPCOM 2014, this mini-series centered on England’s royal family is to be broadcast on small screens in early 2015.

Queen Elizabeth… Hurley

In this new mini drama series, the 49-year old English actress is playing in a very different style from her other interpretations (Gossip Girl, Austin Powers…) In The Royals, Elizabeth plays Queen Helena, a modern queen who has nothing to do with Elisabeth II.

Inside stories of a royal family

The Royals shows the viewer the reality of the British royal family daily lives behind the golden facade of Buckhingam Palace walls. Sumptuous feasts, lust, worldly pleasures and amusements, politics, sex, private family reunions, secret romances, conspiracy, lies, deceit and sinking of a family whose gilding is less and less bright over the years.
Being born into this elite circle is not always rosy. The other side of the coin has a cost. The members of the royal family of England see their privacy make the front-page headlines of the world press and social media. The Royals is a harsh and irreverent reality show series that will perhaps not be appreciated by the true ruling family. To date, the series has yet to find a TV channel to broadcast it in the UK…

Immediate pleasure, lust

Set in modern-day England, the series tells the story of Queen Helena and her family. And if it is true that, in real life, some descendants of the crown have not always been exemplary, those of Helena seem to live only for their immediate pleasure and on the taxpayers’ expense. Vincent Regan (Hit and Miss, Empire, The Prisoner), plays her husband, King Simon. This little TV gem was written and directed by Mark Schwahn (One Tree Hill).

Star-studded cast

In The Royals, Elizabeth Hurley is surrounded by William Moseley (Narnia saga), Vincent Regan (300, Strike Back), Tom Austen (Jo) Ukweli Roach (Streetdance 3D), Jake Maskall, Oliver Milburn and Joan Collins, the famous heroine of Dynasty, in the role of the Duchess of Oxford, Helena’s mother.

About Elizabeth Hurley

Elizabeth Hurley was born in Basingstoke, England. She made her film debut in 1987 in an episodic film, Aria, by Bruce Beresford. She took this highlighting opportunity to appear in dramas on British television. In 1988, she shared top billing with Hugh Grant in Remando al Viento by Gonzalo Suarez.
In 1992 she co-starred with Weslez Snipes in Passenger 57, a global blockbuster. In 1997, she played an innocent sex bomb in Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, and reinforces her image of inaccessible vamp.

Harlan Coben’s No Second Chance On TF1

At MIPCOM 2014, TF1 and Harlan Coben presented the new series “No Second Chance,” adapted from the American writer’s best seller by the young French producer Sydney Gallonde.

The American writer Harlan Coben, one of the major authors of thrillers, and the young French producer Sydney Gallonde (VAB Production), collaborated on the television adaptation of his thriller “No second chance”, published in 2003. The result of this unexpected collaboration will be a French six-part series that has begun shooting in September 2014 and will be broadcasted on TF1.

Cast of stars

The six 52-minute episodes are shot in Paris and Marseilles until next February, under the eye of François Velle (“Bones,” “Doc Martin”) with a beautiful cast: Pascal Elbé (Richard Millot), Lionel Abelanski (Louis Barthel), Hippolyte Girardot, Lionnel Astier, Lorant Deutsch. The American actress Dana Delany, starring in “Desperate Housewives” and “Body of Proof”, is also involved in the series.

An encounter

The young producer Sydney Gallonde, native of Toulouse, is working with Jean-Pierre Dusseaux, founder and CEO of GVA Production. Initially, the ambitious young man, who has already produced the “Victoire Bonnot” series on M6, was looking for a scenario by soliciting a writer.
After unsuccessfully approaching several publishing houses, he tried his luck with Belfond and asked if it would be possible to adapt one of Harlan Coben’s novels for television. The request is forwarded to the French agent and, to his surprise, Harlan Coben accepted. The two men got along well and set to work immediately.
Several passages of the “No second chance” story are developed to make a television series of about six hours. The collaboration between the young producer and the American star resembles that between Harlan Coben and the French Guillaume Canet, who directed in 2006 the film “Tell No One”, based on a novel by the American.

About Harlan Coben

Harlan Coben made his debut in suspense literature in 1995; he was the first American author to be awarded three major awards in crime fiction in the United States: the Edgar Allan Poe Prize, the Shamus Award and Anthony Award.
He will soon be in Paris to promote his new novel, “Six years” (Belfond), released on March 6 in bookstores. The opportunity for the American to see his new friend, and perhaps Guillaume Canet, his friend for many years now.
The first of his novels translated in french, “Tell No One” (Belfond, 2002) (awarded the Elle Price of Thriller Readers in 2003) was adapted to cinema by Guillaume Canet in 2006 and was immediately a huge success with the public and the critics.

Yann Arthus Bertrand’s Moving Human

At MIPCOM 2014 in Cannes, Yann Arthus Bertrand presented a preview of the beautiful and vivid images of his new documentary film “Human”.

Yann Arthus Bertrand is the director of the worldwide hit film Home, released five years ago and seen by over 600 million viewers. After shooting its extension, 7 Billion Others, he left again for our pleasure to travel the roads of the world with his film crew to gather a wealth of poignant stories about the lives of people of our planet.

Compelling images

The first scene of the film “Human”, presented to the public at MIPCOM, in the presence of director Yann Arthus Bertrand, takes place in France, off the coast of Finistère, during the recent impressive storms in the country, especially in the West.

Testimonials facing the camera

Yann Arthus Bertrand has had the idea for the film during a helicopter engine failure in Mali. He was then picked up by people from a village who told him their simple everyday life. On this occasion, he then learned a lot about humanity. For “Human”, he has made some 2,000 interviews throughout the world, mixed with stunning helicopter views, all for a great and profound message: we have to listen a little more and to love each other more.

Human, more than a documentary

The film “Human” is part of a global logic, that beyond the documentary, aims at the emergence of a gathering of the various initiatives and knowledge related to the association, humanitarian, ecological and social world. A particular emphasis will be given to the music in the film; as for “Home”, it will be composed by Armand Amar.

Release in 2015

The release of this amazing collection of testimonies is scheduled for 2015 and will première on France 2 before being shown for free everywhere on the planet. In 2015, ‘Human’ will also be a great website where millions of Internet users will find hundreds of interviews and aerial unpublished images.

Yann Arthus Bertrand, ambassador for United Nations

To launch the project, Yann Arthus Bertrand wanted to find a place and a symbolic date. Through his commitment and the longstanding collaboration with various agencies of the UN and its Secretary General Ban Ki Moon, the launch of the film could then be decided at the General Assembly of the United Nations in September 2015.

Human, a public utility movie

The film “Human” by Yann Arthus Bertrand is fully funded by non-profit and State-approved foundations.

Naomi Campbell Faces Television

Naomi Campbell at Mipcom 2013

At MIPCOM 2013, Naomi Campbell, 43-year model nicknamed the “Black Panther”, came on the Croisette to promote “The Face”, a show aired on the Oxygen channel in the United States.

To face for 5 minutes the objectives of the photographers during a photocall on the terrace of the Hotel Martinez in Cannes, the star had chosen a white dress revealing a sculptural body with black suede boots. Naomi Campbell, one of the most popular models of the 90s, with 500 magazine covers, selected in 1991 by People magazine as one of 50 most beautiful people in the world, worked with the world’s greatest photographers.
The TV show The Face is the story of three supermodels, including Naomi Campbell, who coach their teams to reveal the future supermodel who is awarded a contract with a major cosmetics brand.
The Face stages three supermodels, with a flawless reputation in the closed world of fashion, who build up teams of models, coach them and have them compete to find “The Face”. In each team, models apprentices must work with the best professionals. In the end, one of the models become the muse of a famous brand of cosmetics. This is the principle of the new game of the American chain Oxygen, produced by the American division of Shine Group .
Directly inspired by the concept of The Voice, the top models cast their candidates through a “puppet shadow” system. The Face displays a haute couture cast: the legendary “Black Panther ” Naomi Campbell hosts along with Coco Rocha, Canadian model who paraded among other for Marc Jacobs, Versace, Louis Vuitton and Chanel and the top model Karolina Kurkova who appeared on the cover of more than 40 international editions of the magazine Vogue.
As an impartial host, teams can count on Nigel Barker, coming from another modeling show: America’s Next Top Model. Bringing together these stars of the podium has not been easy, the Naomi Campbell’s contract amount remains a mystery, and have the ladies model share the spotlight was not easy either. During filming, the relationship between Coco Rocha and Naomi Campbell would greatly strain. When one knows the volcanic temperament of the latter, one can only imagine the atmosphere on the set…

Andie MacDowell Judge Model

At MIPCOM 2013 in Cannes, actress Andie Macdowell and actor Dylan Neal came to promoting the Cedar Cove series.

This is the first TV role of this former model, still just as beautiful, who so many times lit up the big screen with movies such as Greystoke, Green Card or Four Weddings and a Funeral. At 55, sacred star in the 90s by romantic comedies and the face of L’Oreal, embodies in the Cedar Cove series the role of Olivia Lockhart, the judge who presides at the municipal court of the pretty small coastal town of Cedar Cove.
The judge not only seeks to bring law and order, but also ensures the well being of the citizens, and does not hesitate to fly to their rescue in difficult situations. At her side, actor Dylan Neal, in the role of Jack Griffith, plays the role of a dashing editor of the local newspaper in the city, divorced and recovering alcoholic. After their encounter, he will be a turning point in her life and will push her to look at things in a new light.
A nice duo both glamorous – he’s ready to die forher – and she does not not hesitate to bend the rules to help his neighbor. The duo has attracted more than 10 million American viewers with this serial story centered on the lives of the inhabitants of the small town of Cedar Cove.
At the photocall organized by the MIPCOM, the actress enhanced by a sumptuous red dress with dizzying neckline, created by hermere presence, a wave of excitement among photographers. The Belle played before lenses while cameras crackled to no end, offering her sculptural and sexy body for a few minutes.
All agreed in saying that these moments of intimacy with the actress would remain a special and unforgettable moment in their career as a people photographer. After the posing session ended, the couple sped straight to the press conference, where many eager and curious journalists had gathered to see and hear the star, her companion and Hallmark Chanel representatives.
To justify her first television role, the star said at the conference: “There are major producers, directors, actors and creativity to work in television. This broadens horizons and it’s nice, because you can bring it all to the public directly at home.”
Andie MacDowell radiated the very evening in a beautiful gray satin dress on the arm of her partner Dylan Neal on the MIPCOM 20013  Opening Party Red Carpet.
Cedar Cove is based on the eponymous series of books written by Debbie Macomber in the U.S. The family-type series includes 12 episodes of 46 minutes. Given the huge success of the series, Hallmark Chane has renewed it for a second season and maybe, will it found a French broadcaster at MIPCOM in Cannes.

Andie MacDowell started her career as a model and posed for Vogue, and other advertising campaigns for fashion designers such as Calvin Klein, Yves Saint Laurent, Gorgio Armani… She then turns to the 7th Art.
Its very noticeable performance in Sex, Lies and Video by Steven Soderbergh, Palme d’Or at Cannes in 1989, earned her an Independent Spirit Award for Best Actress, Best Actor of the Los Angeles Critics and was nominated at the Golden Globe.
Her role in Green Card (1990) with Gerard Depardieu earned her a second Golden Globe nomination.
She eventually finds her recognition as a star in the 1990s with romantic movies: Groundhog Day (1993) by Harold Hamis, Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994) by Mike Newell, alongside de Hugues Grant, for which she gets a third Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a musical or Comedy.
In 1997, she received an Honorary César and the price of the Goldene Kamera for her entire career.
