The Galeries Lafayette in Cannes organized the fashion show opening the 11th Cannes Shopping Festival festivities on April 18, 2014 on the theme of “Wild Fashion”.
In the Grand Auditorium of the Palais des Festivals, for the 4th consecutive year, Cannes Galeries Lafayette offered Cannes Shopping Festival a parade full of gaiety and youth with models breathing.
The ready-to-wear fashion evening, on a background of couture performance, was very successful. The festive, young and “hip hop” atmosphere had the merit to be adapted, however, to the renewal of a spring/summer wardrobe without breaking the bank.
The fashion show was made of several parts, with music punctuating the whole (a special mention for the discovery of the evening, a future hit “Gorgon City – Ready for your love”).
First, the Safari Chic fashion with fashionable colors for the new season ahead, as the green pink and turquoise water pastels. The looks are meant resolutely casual, models emerging straight from an urban jungle, with safari styles for hats and canvas, carried us straight into the lush and wild African bush world.
Exclusives Galeries Lafayette brands like Jodhpur, Avant Première, Briefing were mixed with other barnds like Tommy Hilfiger, Comptoir des Cotonniers, Hom, Impetus, Bala Boosté, Calvin Klein Underwear, Sati Bibo, Falke.
The parade of male underwear (to seduce the ladies), provoked, at the arrival of the first models, an “oh” of admiration in the hall as jaw-drooping mannequins with oiled pectorals and perfect lap belt presented the trendy underwear. Yellow or blue socks, moulding the muscles of their calves eventually sparked the “gente féminine”.
With his gorgeous yellow Haute Couture evening dress adorned butterflies, worn by model Angela Donana, designer Denis Durand gave us the desire to discover right now his new collection full of fresh and floral motifs. The models of the Cannes designer Denis Durand Couture are now showcased on the luxury shelves of department stores at an affordable price.
To complete this beauty parade, all models and teams who took part in the fashion show, gathered on the stage, rampaging on the hit of the man who wears Vivienne Westwood vintage hats, creator of the worldwide hit “Happy”, Pharell Williams.
Many artists have enlivened the show: the band A.Jam, dancers Vanessa Dirven, RJ Umipig and Jo Galag, the Compagnie Frheaven, and dancer and choreographer Aurélie Courbon her troupe.
