Participants of the Raid Inter Hotels de la Côte d’Azur (RIHCA), organized by the Team Nature agency had made an appointment on Sunday, September 29 on Sainte Marguerite Island in Cannes for sports and mental tests in a festive atmosphere.
The 2013 edition has unfortunately suffered the vagaries and whims of the weather. The postponement of a week due to bad weather, has forced 46 teams to forfeit. So, only 35 teams and 140 competitors only ran onto the aisles of the island of Sainte -Marguerite and into water for a friendly confrontation.
In competing teams mingled both managers, sales persons, IT experts and room staff of hotels from Monaco (SBM, Fairmont…) via Nice (Palais de la Mediterranee, Radisson Blu…), Antibes (Eden Roc, Ambassadeurs…) and Cannes (Martinez, Majestic…), Saint Tropez (Hotel de Paris…).
All had come to defend their hotel’s colors over several eco-friendly events, appealling as much to their sporting talent that their reflective qualities for a busy schedule: the orientation course (5 stars to discover), puzzle bonus time (time saving by solving a puzzle), paddle, kayaking and adventure course.
This raid has enabled participants to create a collective eulation between different employees of a hotel that rarely have the opportunity to interact as they stand at different positions. To recover from such efforts (around 3 hours of competition), osteopathy sessions were provided by the Atman school of Sophia Antipolis, allowing competitors to recover.
The race was concluded with a convivial lunch at the Fort Royal, built by Richelieu former prison of the Iron Mask, whose identity is a mystery. The meal brought more than 300 people including teams, journalists and partners of the sporting event.
Then came the announcement of the winners, performed in the presence of Michel Paoli from Crédit Mutuel, official partner of the Raid Inter Hotels Côte d’Azur. Team Nature’s Laurent Geny confirmed that this year the reflective qualities were decisive and Thomas Dlachasse announced the podium: the Monte Carlo Bay team won this third edition of RIHCA, followed by last year’s winner Pierre et Vacances in Mandelieu, closely trailed by the Radisson Blu Nice team (yet to finish the first in time!), fourth: the team of Cezanne Hotel & Spa in Cannes, 5th: the Hotel de Paris in Monte Carlo team.
The raid was an opportunity for participants employed at different levels of their hotel to weld around the tests and create exchanges that would not have been in usual time. All said they were happy to have participated in this great event and are committed to be on the start line next year.
The Crédit Mutuel Méditerranée has sponsored the Raid Inter Hotels Côte d’Azur, which remains the only unifying friendly event of the luxury hotel from Saint Tropez to Monaco.
