The prestigious Château Font du Broc will welcome gourmets and wine lovers on February 21 on its Truffle Day.
Château Font du Broc, famous for its appellation Côtes de Provence wines and its rich architectural heritage, organizes on Sunday, February 21, 2016, its traditional Day of the Truffle. From 10 am, the Provencal market, will welcome all truffle and regional products lovers at the prestigious vineyard, offering the gastronomes the subtle flavor of the truffle, treasure of the Provencal soil. A gastronomic lunch will celebrate the unique flavors of the Tuber melanosporum.
The Truffle, treasure of Provence
The Truffle, the Black Diamond of Provence, is a unique and prestigious mushroom, which, in winter, with snow sports, serves as flagship for tourism. Provence is the main truffle producing region in France, with 50% of national production on 7,500 hectares of truffle oaks.
The Provencal market
To discover the Black Pearl from all angles, the team of Château Font du Broc has selected ten regional artisans who will offer their truffle based products, as well as sweet treats.
The stands will be held from 10h to 17h by the French garden, with free admission.
Program of the Truffle Day:
10h00: Opening of the artisanal market
Craft market with a dozen regional artisans, offering local products for sale: fresh truffles, delicatessen, meats, cheeses, honey, jams, etc.
11h00: Visit of the Cistercian cellar
12h30 – Gastronomic lunch (on reservation)
14h00 – Visit of the Cistercian cellar
15h30 – Visit of the Cistercian cellar
Petite Restauration: Scrambled eggs with truffles and other truffled delicacies.
Gastronomic lunch around the Truffle
The highlight of the Truffle Day at Château Font du Broc will be the gastronomic lunch around the Truffle realized by Christian Boeuf and his team from La Bastide des Magnans in Vidauban.
The delicious menu will delight the connoisseurs of the incomparable flavor of the Black Diamond. A great opportunity for those who want to discover this mysterious fungus that will awaken all your senses, accompanied by wines from the vineyard.
